A new trailer for Teen Wolf: The Movie shows Allison and Scott's complicated reunion. MTV series Teen Wolf ran from 2011 to 2017, but the characters will return (with the exception of Dylan O'Brien's Stiles) in a new film by series creator Jeff Davis. The Paramount+ movie event is set 13 years after the finale, and previous glimpses of the film teased some exciting surprises, like the return of Crystal Reed's character Allison despite her death in season 3. Though the storyline of the film is unknown, a prior teaser depicted Allison hunting down original character Derek (Tyler Hoechlin), indicating that her return won't be a benevolent one.
Now, Paramount+ has unveiled a new trailer for the upcoming movie, which offers more details about the adult lives of beloved original characters since the show wrapped, as well as revealing more of the circumstances behind Allison's return. The new trailer teases the much-anticipated reunion between first loves Scott (Tyler Posey) and Allison, who were in a relationship in Teen Wolf's early seasons until their breakup before Allison's death. Based on the new footage, Allison doesn't know who Scott is anymore, which implies that she may not be the person she seems. See the video below:
Why Scott & Allison's Reunion Is Significant
The Teen Wolf: The Movie trailer implies that Allison will be a major focus in the film, with her father Chris (JR Bourne) coming together with Scott back in Beacon Hills to figure out the truth of her return. This makes sense, since Allison was one of the most important Teen Wolf characters even after her death. As Scott's first love, Allison introduced both Scott and viewers to the world of hunters, which came into play in a big way later in the series' run. She also became the key to Scott figuring out how to control his previously erratic transformations into a werewolf, a skill which has allowed him to flourish into the Alpha that he becomes in Teen Wolf: The Movie.
Allison's death in Teen Wolf represented a singular moment in the show, creating huge life-and-death stakes in the teen drama that rippled throughout the show's run. When Allison, who was the heart of the show in many ways, died, it forced many of the other characters to reevaluate their priorities, decisions, relationships, and goals, leading them to become the adults that the movie will follow. As such, Allison's reunion with Scott, the protagonist of Teen Wolf, will be a major moment in the movie that will force the now grown-up Scott to reckon with the ghosts of his past, which may also lead to him letting his guard down and seeking to protect the new Allison from harm.
How Will Teen Wolf: The Movie Explain Allison's Return?
The new trailer for Teen Wolf: The Movie shows that Allison seems to be unaware of Scott or her own history, and the previous teaser that saw her hunting Derek also proved that she doesn't remember her past with him either. In addition, Chris' belief in the trailer is that the being that looks like his daughter is not, in fact, her, potentially hinting that the Nogitsune is using her body as it did with Stiles. Of course, with the many supernatural stories that Teen Wolf has covered over the years, perhaps Allison really has risen from the dead. Whether Reed's character in Teen Wolf: The Movie is Allison or not will finally be revealed to audiences when the film airs on Paramount+ Thursday, January 26.
