Tyler Posey is back as Scott McCall in new photos from the set of the upcoming Teen Wolf movie. Back in November 2021, for the fourth anniversary of the original series finale, it was announced that a Teen Wolf movie was in the works for the Paramount+ streaming service. Announced as premiering later this year, the Teen Wolf movie’s synopsis reveals that a new terrifying evil has emerged in the central town of Beacon Hills. Many of the original Teen Wolf series villains, from Banshees to Hellhounds, will resurface. Alongside them, Posey is reprising the leading role of Scott McMall to battle alongside his friends against the most powerful enemy the group has ever faced.

Jeff Davis, the series creator of Teen Wolf, is returning to write the script for the movie. In front of the camera, the cast of Teen Wolf: The Movie will include familiar faces from the popular MTV supernatural drama. Crystal Reed, Holland Roden, Shelley Hennig, and Colton Haynes will each reprise their main roles from the original series. Linden Ashby, Orny Adams, JR Bourne, Seth Gilliam, Ryan Kelley, Melissa Ponzio, and Dylan Sprayberry were also been announced as returning as their respective supporting characters.

Now, with filming on Teen Wolf: The Movie officially underway, a number of photos have been posted on social media to commemorate the first day of production. The photos show Posey getting back to the portrayal of Scott, trademark jacket and all. It also shows familiar locations from Beacon Hills High School, which was a main setting in the Teen Wolf show. At the time, it was mentioned that not all Teen Wolf: The Movie cast members would be revealed at once. It is known, however, that Dylan O’Brien, who portrayed Stiles Stilinski, and Arden Cho, who starred as Kira Yukimura, are not involved with the Paramount+ film continuation. Cho, the only woman of color among her four female co-stars, was reportedly offered half their salary, and declined to return. As for O’Brien, who was a fan-favorite as Stiles, he explained in interviews that it was a difficult decision for him not to participate in the movie. However, ultimately, O’Brien was happy with where he left Stiles.

Teen Wolf: The Movie will be setting up Wolf Pack, a new series based on the book of the same name by author Edo van Belkom. This has led some fans to worry that the Paramount+ project will be less focused on the returning Teen Wolf characters, and more on the new cast. While it remains to be seen whether that is the case, the new Teen Wolf: The Movie set photos demonstrate an understanding of the fact that actors like Posey, and iconic throwback locations like Beacon Hills, are what many longtime fans are hoping to see.
