Teen Wolf: The Movie marks the return of many beloved names and faces from the original Teen Wolf series - here's every character and actor returning to the franchise. Drawing its inspiration from the eponymous 1985 movie, the supernatural drama Teen Wolf lasted for six whole seasons before wrapping up in 2017. Now, more than five years after its conclusion, the show's thrilling blend of romance, teenage hi-jinks, horror, and white-knuckling action is all set to return - but this time as a movie.

Set in the year 2026, Teen Wolf: The Movie will use the show's developments as its foundation to follow a new set of adventures that keep Scott McCall and the citizens of Beacon Hills on their toes. Scott McCall is no longer a teenager but is still an alpha, and it's his responsibility to reunite with old friends, find new allies, and fight an imminent threat. As revealed by creator Jeff Davis (via EW), the movie's time jump will be relevant to its overarching narrative and character arcs.

Although many details surrounding the movie's connection to the overall franchise are shrouded in mystery, Teen Wolf: The Movie will also set the stage for a spin-off series titled Wolf Pack. Considering the scalability of the original series, Wolf Pack is an intriguing step forward for the Teen Wolf franchise, but what's even more exciting is the prospect of the original Teen Wolf cast sharing the screen for the last time. Here's every character and actor returning for the Teen Wolf movie.

Tyler Hoechlin As Derek Hale

Tyler Hoechlin as Derek Hale in Teen Wolf

In his interview with EW, Tyler Hoechlin opened up about his Teen Wolf character, Derek Hale, and disclosed how the time jump between the show and the movie changes him. He revealed that Derek will be a father in Teen Wolf: The Movie and learn to "figure out who he was" while "trying to guide his son through that same process." Tyler Hoechlin's Derek, who left after season 4, was somewhat of a father figure to Scott as well. This could mean that he will see a reflection of his past self during his fatherly moments with his son. However, this time around, he will likely learn from all the mistakes he made while guiding Scott through his formative werewolf years and will have a warmer demeanor with his son. Not to mention, Derek Hale's son will possibly carry the show's legacy forward in the upcoming spin-off, which further cements Hoechlin's character's importance in the movie.

Tyler Posey As Scott McCall

As the movie's synopsis and trailer reveal, Scott McCall is still a red-eyed alpha, which means he will lead his wolf pack again and attempt to save Beacon Hills from its deadliest threat. While most other details surrounding Tyler Posey's character are still being kept under wraps for the Teen Wolf movie, it will be interesting to see how the film will portray him as an adult. For Scott — and other teenage characters of Teen Wolf — high school played a vital role in defining their identities and decisions throughout the show's runtime. Now that high school is completely out of the picture, Scott will have bigger responsibilities on his shoulders, and his decisions will carry a lot more heft than they previously did.

Colton Haynes As Jackson Whittemore

Colton Haynes is Red Arrow

Colton Haynes' Jackson mysteriously disappears after season 2's last episode and only returns for the Teen Wolf series finale. However, despite his limited screen time, Jackson easily finds his place among the show's most memorable characters with his polarizing personality traits. While his rivalry against Scott makes him a secondary villain, his tender relationship with Lydia is heartwarming. Similarly, while his stoic demeanor suggests he is cold-hearted, his tragic backstory reveals there is a lot more to him than meets the eye. Since he was still a Kanima toward the end of season 6, Jackson will likely appear as Scott's ally in Teen Wolf: The Movie.

Shelley Hennig As Malia Tate

Shelley Hennig As Malia Tate in Teen Wolf

Werecoyote Malia goes from being a side character in Teen Wolf season 3 to becoming one of the prominent members of Scott McCall's pack in seasons 4, 5, and 6. In the series finale, she also relearns to take her complete coyote form after Stiles' absence and becomes Scott's primary love interest. Her incredible story developments in the show will likely carry forward in the Teen Wolf movie, and she will remain an eminent force in McCall's pack. Furthermore, her romantic dynamic with Scott could still be active, but Allison Argent's return could potentially disrupt it.

Crystal Reed As Allison Argent

Crystal Reed Allison Return Reaction Teen Wolf Movie

Crystal Reed's return as Allison Argent is one of the most shocking revelations in Teen Wolf: The Movie's trailer. Throughout the first four seasons of Teen Wolf, Allison serves as a primary character who helps Scott and Stiles with their werewolf misadventures despite being from a werewolf hunting family. Her journey ends in season 3 when she sacrifices her life to save Lydia from a Nogitsune. Allison getting killed off in season 3 is one of the most heartwrenching moments in Teen Wolf, and it triggers many significant changes in the show's overarching storyline - meaning her resurrection is bound to have a similar impact.

Holland Roden As Lydia Martin

Lydia stares at a record player in Teen Wolf

Lydia's arc in Teen Wolf is not so different from Scott's. Both get bitten by Peter Hale and acquire supernatural abilities they never asked for. However, instead of perceiving their abilities as a curse, they use them to fight evil and save lives. Later, while Lydia is the wolf pack's heart, Scott becomes the soul. In the upcoming Teen Wolf movie, Lydia will again put her leadership skills to good use and pave the way for the pack alongside Scott. Other than that, the Teen Wolf movie could also devote some time to addressing Lydia's relationship with Styles since their arc appeared rushed in Teen Wolf season 6.

Linden Ashby As Sheriff Stilinski

Linden Ashby As Sheriff Stilinski in Teen Wolf

Although Sheriff Stalinski is more of a side character in the Teen Wolf series, it is hard to imagine Beacon Hills' law enforcement without him. Stalinski wears his heart on his sleeves and always works his way toward the greater good instead of succumbing to the supernatural evil forces that haunt Beacon Hills. That explains why he goes as far as defying his deputies in the finale to ensure that his friends are safe, and by doing so, even makes up for Stiles' absence in Teen Wolf season 6.

JR Bourne As Chris Argent

JR Bourne As Chris Argent in Teen Wolf

Thanks to Allison and Scott's consistent efforts; Chris Argent goes through a rite of passage and sees the forest for the trees when he learns about his father's wrongdoings. He eventually draws a line between good and evil and starts helping the werewolves instead of carrying forward his family's legacy of killing them. From Teen Wolf season 3 all the way through to season 6, Chris makes his amends with the pack by proving to be a reliable ally, especially when he helps them infiltrate the armory and encourages Derek to fight Gerard in season 6. In the sequel, Argent will probably stay loyal to the wolfpack unless Allison's return in the Teen Wolf movie somehow forces him on a warpath against Scott again.

Orny Adams As Coach Bobby Finstock

Coach Finstock looking surprised in Teen Wolf.

Coach Bobby may not have a significant role in Teen Wolf's overarching premise, but his goofy personality and hilarious one-liners often steal the show when he is on-screen. As he does in the original Teen Wolf series, Bobby will add a layer or two of light-hearted comedy to the movie's otherwise dark plot. If Beacon Hills High School serves as Wolf Pack's setting, he might even appear as a new lacrosse team's coach in the spin-off series.

Seth Gilliam As Dr. Alan Deaton

Seth Gilliam, from The Walking Dead fame, has a recurring arc in Teen Wolf where he is a human veterinarian by day and a supernatural expert by night. He becomes a part of Scott's evil-fighting endeavors by either guiding him with his extensive knowledge of the supernatural world or treating his friends when they get injured in combat. Gruesome werewolf showdowns and consequent casualties are inevitable in the Teen Wolf universe, and that is why a dexterous doctor like Deaton is much needed in the Teen Wolf movie.

Melissa Ponzio As Melissa McCall

Teen Wolf Melissa McCall Melissa Ponzio

Scott's supernatural abilities initially scare the heck out of his mother, Melissa, before she eventually learns to accept them and realizes that the town needs her son to fend off grim forces and restore peace in their neighborhood. Since Melissa is to Scott what Aunt May is to No Way Home's Spider-man, Scott will still need her guidance and support in the Teen Wolf movie to overpower villains and save the day.

Ryan Kelley As Deputy Jordan Parrish

Parrish is conflicted in Teen Wolf

On the surface, Scott's wolf pack in Teen Wolf only includes his high school friends, but many Beacon Hills adults like Deputy Jordan Parrish always work behind the scenes to help them. While working under Sheriff Stalinski's wing, Parrish will continue pulling the strings for Scott and his friends in the Teen Wolf movie. Furthermore, the movie may also bring some resolution to his unexplored romantic connection with Lydia from prior Teen Wolf seasons.

Ian Bohen As Peter Hale

Peter Hale with the Wild Hunt in Teen Wolf.

Peter Hale's eventual redemption still does not make up for his hostility toward Tyler Hoechlin's Derek Hale and the rest of the crew throughout Teen Wolf. But with bleaker threats brewing around Beacon Hills in the Teen Wolf movie, Peter will likely stick to his good side and join forces with Scott's wolf pack to duke it out with the greater evil.

Dylan Sprayberry As Liam Dunbar

Dylan Sprayberry As Liam Dunbar in Teen Wolf

After many trials and tribulations, Liam acquires complete control of his werewolf abilities in Teen Wolf and leads the pack when Scott is about to leave for college. Being Scott's first bitten Beta, his ability to steal Scott's Alpha spark could come in handy against the Teen Wolf movie's antagonist. Liam could also put the power of his rage to good use and considerably enhance his strength to give Scott's team the upper hand.

Nobi Nakanishi As Deputy Ishida

Nobi Nakanishi in Teen Wolf

Nobi Nakanishi has appeared in two Teen Wolf episodes to date. In "Silverfinger," he plays the Nogitsune-possessed Yakuza boss, and in "Letharia Vulpina," he is the younger version of Katashi. The actor is a part of Teen Wolf: The Movie's cast as Deputy Ishida, who will likely work alongside Sheriff Stalinski.

Characters Missing From The Teen Wolf Movie

Stiles Stilinski in Teen Wolf

The fact that almost every character from the main series is returning for the movie is great news, but it makes Arden Cho and Dylan O'Brien's absence from Teen Wolf: The Movie all the more disappointing. Both actors have confirmed that they will not be part of Teen Wolf: The Movie. While Arden Cho isn't returning due to pay disparity, Dylan O'Brien had difficulty fitting the movie's filming dates into his schedule. Stiles' exclusion could spell trouble for Teen Wolf: The Movie, but showrunner Jeff Davis has affirmed that even though he is not exactly in the movie, he will be "ever-present" (via EW).
