Teen Wolf: The Movie is returning with many beloved characters from the series, but it forgets the return of one key character from the show Teen Wolf. Much of the excitement surrounding Teen Wolf: The Movie regards the return of some of the most iconic characters from the series. With the movie showing new adventures in Beacon Hills for the Teen Wolf characters, including Lydia Martin and Scott McCall, to name a few, Teen Wolf viewers will get to see their favorite characters on the screen once again and discover what happened to them in the years that separate Teen Wolf from Teen Wolf: The Movie.

Scott's pack will once again reunite with new and old allies coming to their rescue against a powerful evil years after the ending of Teen Wolf as Teen Wolf: The Movie will feature an 11-year time jump from the Teen Wolf season finale, set in 2015. Similarly to the last season of the show, Teen Wolf audiences will see some important characters returning to Beacon Hills and to the screen, some of which have been present in Teen Wolf since the very first season and are beloved by the viewers, such as Allison Argent, Derek Hale, and Peter Hale.

The Teen Wolf Movie Is Failing To Hype Jackson's Return

However, there is one more significant return that does not seem to be as hyped as all the rest. While viewers seem to be excited about Derek's return as well, and Allison's return in Teen Wolf: The Movie is very much discussed in the movie's promotion, they are not the only characters from season 1 that will return in Teen Wolf: The Movie. One character many seem to be forgetting about is Colton Haynes' Jackson Whittemore, who, just like the character mentioned above, was part of the original cast in Teen Wolf season 1 and will return to Beacon Hills Teen Wolf: The Movie.

As one of the original characters from Teen Wolf to come back in the movie, Jackson's return should receive more attention and hype as it is likely that his return in Teen Wolf: The Movie will impact the plot. As not everyone is coming back in the film, Jackson's return is even more relevant given the absence of Dylan O'Brien's Stiles in the movie and that of other beloved characters. As such, Jackson coming back should be treated with excitement and significance, just like the return of many other characters who have not been present in the last few seasons of Teen Wolf.

Why Jackson's Return Is A Big Deal

Colton Haynes as Jackson in Teen Wolf season 6

Before Teen Wolf: The Movie, Jackson previously returned in the sixth season of Teen Wolf after leaving the show in season 2. Unbeknownst to him, Jackson is turned into a Kanima in Teen Wolf season 2 after his body rejects the bite of the alpha he received upon wanting to become a werewolf. At the end of the season, Jackson appears to be dead but manages to revive and complete his transformation into a werewolf. However, viewers don't see Jackson as a werewolf as Lydia reveals that he moved to London with his dad at the beginning of Teen Wolf season 3.

After Teen Wolf season 7 was canceled, viewers never got to see Jackson being a werewolf or growing into the man shown in season 6, who is in a relationship with Ethan and seems confident in his werewolf powers. Therefore, Jackson's return will give viewers an insight into Jackson's story after he left Beacon Hills after the Teen Wolf season 2 finale and his character development since then. Like in season 6, Jackson's return to Beacon Hills is significant as he has been away for so long because it means that some major threat is about to strike Beacon Hills.
