When Teen Wolf premiered on MTV, the show introduced the audience to a teenager going through a lot of changes. Those changes weren't just the product of adolescence, but of a werewolf bite. Many of the things that motivated the Teen Wolf characters in the first season would change drastically over the years, but that doesn't mean characters didn't get what they wanted before the end.

In fact, it might surprise fans to realize that nearly all of the main characters who made their debut in the first season of the show get what they want at some point in Teen Wolf's run. They might never have completely normal lives, but some dreams do come true.

Allison Wanted Somewhere To Fit In

The new girl in the pilot episode, Allison Argent had spent most of her life moving from town to town. She was also in the dark about the big family secret.

The first season saw her discover that werewolves existed, that high school popularity was brutal, and that her family had a lot to tell her. She had to deal with a lot, and amongst it all, she just wanted to finally feel like she fit in. Beacon Hills became her home, and her new friends became her family. Even after she died in the third season, they didn't forget her, with Scott still adding her initials to the library's book shelves when he graduated.

Jackson Wanted To Know Scott's Secret

When Scott started exhibiting superior athletic prowess all of a sudden, Jackson was incredibly jealous. He had always been at the top of the lacrosse game, so Scott outperforming him really got under his skin.

Jackson spent the bulk of the first season trying to figure out just how Scott was suddenly so much stronger, faster, and more agile than everyone else. He wanted to be the best so badly that he couldn't let it go. Eventually, Jackson did learn the truth about werewolves, and became one himself. He even returned to the show in the final season to help save Beacon Hills from a threat, despite never having been a member of Scott's pack.

Derek Wanted A Pack

Derek is a bit of a shadowy figure in the fist few episodes of the show. Stiles and Scott think that Derek is the bad guy, but he's really just trying to help Scott. He wants nothing more than to team up with Scott, for them to help each other since neither of them have a pack.

Derek doesn't get exactly what he wants, but a pack does form in Beacon Hills. He forms his own pack in the second season, only to have it fall apart. Derek also frequently allies with Scott, despite neither of them willing to be a beta wolf to the other. Derek becomes more like an extension of Scott's pack as the show goes on, but an unconventional pack of more than just werewolves does become the main effort to protect Beacon Hills.

Stiles Wanted Lydia To See Him

Stiles is Scott's loyal best friend throughout the show, but he is largely comic relief in the first season. He spends his time alternately getting Scott into and out of trouble and pining over Lydia Martin.

From the first time Stiles attempts to interact with Lydia, it's clear he's got it bad. She ignores him. When Stiles does get the chance to talk to her, she's on the phone and doesn't notice him. it takes a long time before Lydia and Stiles become genuine friends - and eventually more than that. By the final season of the series, it's not clear if Lydia and Stiles are in a relationship, but Lydia definitely sees him, and tells him she loves him.

Chris Wanted To Keep People Safe

Chris Argent took his role as a hunter very seriously. He was raised in a family that believed all supernatural beings were a threat to humans, and he acted accordingly. His entire goal in his early appearances was to keep humanity safe.

That goal didn't change, but his mindset did. Chris realized, though not all members of his family did, that not all supernatural creatures were the bad guys. He became someone who protected supernatural beings just as much as he protected humans.

Kate Wanted To Bring Allison Into The Family Business

Part of the Argent family, and a sometimes villain of Teen Wolf, Kate brought a little chaos with her in the first season of the show. She constantly fed Allison hints about what the family really did, hoping to get Allison to figure it out on her own. She was all ready to start training Allison, while the rest of the family wasn't sure the teen was ready for everything that came with being a hunter.

By the end of the first season, Allison learned about her family history, though she would learn a whole lot more over seasons two and three. Kate got more than she bargained for when Allison learned the truth, however, since Allison didn't become the kind of hunter Kate expected her to be.

Peter Wanted To Be The Hero

Peter Hale In Teen Wolf Season 1

Peter Hale was the antagonist the audience loved to hate. No one ever seemed to be able to get rid of him. He came back from death over and over again.

Despite being the villain of the first season, what Peter really wanted was to be seen as the hero. He craved the power of being the Alpha, but always saw himself as the good guy. Peter gave Scott the bite as a gift, wanted to bring (some) of the Hale family back together, and wanted to be the person people came to in their time of need. While he didn't get all of those things at once, he did get to become a hero. Peter's love for his daughter Malia prompted him to act selflessly toward the end of the series, allowing him to help save the day, and become an actual hero, not his idea of what the hero should be.

Melissa Wanted To Know What Was Going On With Scott

Single mom, emergency room nurse, and all around amazing woman, Melissa McCall had a lot on her plate during her son's high school years. When her son started acting strangely in the first season on the show, she was rightfully concerned about his well being.

Like any concerned parent, Melissa just wanted to know what was going on with her son. By the series finale, not only did Melissa know what was going on with Scott, but she was privy to a lot of the supernatural goings-on in Beacon Hills. She helped save the day on a regular basis.

Lydia Wanted To Be Important

Lydia was one of Teen Wolf's most compelling characters. She went through a major change early in the show when she discovered she was a banshee, but she also revealed how much she was hiding about herself before that.

In the first season, Lydia seemed like a typical high school queen bee. She wanted to make sure she was dating the most popular boy, that everyone was coming to her parties, and that everything she did appeared picture perfect. That's all because Lydia wanted to be (and feel) important. She was hiding away so much of herself that her desire manifested in a way that had her trying to control her high school experience. By the end of the show, she was a hugely important member of Scott's pack as a banshee who could use her abilities to see death, but also offensively in a fight. She also got to follow her mathematics-related dreams right to a prestigious university.

Scott Wanted Not To Be A Monster

When Scott discovered he was a werewolf in the first season, it changed his life. While he loved his new strength and skills, the transformation and the aggression scared him. The last thing he wanted was to be a monster.

Scott was definitely the furthest thing from a monster as the series came to an end. He led a pack of all kinds of supernatural beings, and he sought out those new to the werewolf life to help them adjust. Scott actively worked to make the world a little less monstrous.
