Not every Teen Wolf fan was satisfied when the MTV series came to an end after six seasons. It can be hard to please every viewer when not every character can reappear in a series finale though, leaving some stories more open-ended than others. That's part of the reason audiences are so eager to revisit the town of Beacon Hills with the Teen Wolf movie on Paramount Plus.

Teen Wolf fans know that, again, not every beloved character will be back for the follow-up movie, but most of the main cast from all six seasons is returning. The first full trailer was released at San Diego Comic Con, giving everyone plenty to speculate about when it comes to the new supernatural threat in Beacon Hills and just what the characters have been up to.

Is Allison Really Alive?

Crystal Reed returns as Allison Argent in Teen Wolf the Movie

While fans knew that actress Crystal Reed was announced as returning for the movie, it wasn't clear in what capacity her character would be back. After all, Allison died in battle long before the series came to an end.

The trailer reveals Scott saying that Allison is "alive." Fans might have some questions about that since very few Teen Wolf characters have ever come back from the dead, and certainly not years after their demise. The bigger question might be, is Allison really Allison? Some supernatural beings have been able to take on the appearance of other characters in the series in the past.

Where Is Stiles?

While Crystal Reed's return for the movie was announced, Dylan O'Brien's was not. He's one of the few main cast members who isn't returning for the movie. While some fans are still holding out hope for a surprise appearance from him, especially since Stiles' jeep is spotted in the trailer, others just hope his character has a story happening off-screen.

The trailer provides a look at so many characters in brief shots that there's clearly going to be a lot of story for the audience to jump into. Even telling the audience why Stiles isn't in town in a quick dialogue exchange will be better than ignoring his character completely.

How Powerful Is Lydia?

Lydia Martin rolling her eyes in Teen Wolf

It took Lydia a few seasons to grow into her banshee power originally. One of the best decisions Lydia ever made was to embrace the supernatural to better understand her abilities, and from what little is shown of her character in the trailer, it looks like that power has only grown.

Just how powerful is Lydia? How sensitive are her banshee abilities now? Is she an even better offensive fighter? It will definitely be interesting to see just what else she can do now that she's had years with her abilities to hone them.

Is Derek A Member Of The Pack Now?

Tyler Hoechlin as Derek Hale in Teen Wolf

When the Teen Wolf series came to an end, Scott McCall was the Alpha of his pack, but not all of his allies were members of his pack. Derek invited Scott to be a member of his own pack multiple times before Scott became an Alpha, and Scott always turned him down.

Though Derek spent plenty of time outside of Beacon Hills, he always returned when his hometown was in trouble. While Derek didn't appear to have a pack of his own at the end of the series, he did help Scott with a conflict. He returns alongside Scott in the trailer for the Teen Wolf movie, and fans might be wondering whether Derek and Scott ever became members of the same pack, or if Derek embraced his Hale relatives in South America to join their pack.

What Guise Is The Nogitsune Using?

Teen Wolf De-void S3E22

The trailer hints that the Nogitsune is making a return as the villain. The Nogitsune, as fans will remember, takes on the form of someone else, someone whose mind they can inhabit. It happens to Stiles in the third season of the show, and the Nogitsune as Stiles is one of the show's most chilling (and fan favorite) villains.

Some fans have already theorized that the Allison appearing in the movie might actually be the Nogitsune. Of course, it's also possible that it could be someone else from the show's past - or even a brand new character the movie will introduce.

How Will The Pack Fight The Oni Without Kira?

Some of the biggest news surrounding the movie was the announcements regarding casting - specifically, who would return. One of the actors who wouldn't be coming back, however, was Arden Cho, who played Kira during the series. Cho declined to return because she was offered less money than her co-stars, and many fans support her decision to hold out for equal pay.

It does make the presence of the Nogitsune and the Oni more perplexing though. They are so tied into Kira's character development in the series that it seems especially odd for Kira not to be a part of the story. It's possible the part was recast or that a different kitsune will be introduced, but the pack will definitely need a kitsune to take on the Oni.

Why Did Mason Join The Beacon Hills Police Department?

Liam and Mason hanging out in Teen Wolf.

Eagle-eyed fans will notice a familiar face appears to be wearing a Beacon Hills Police uniform in the trailer. That familiar face is Mason, Liam's best friend in the series. Mason is someone whose intelligence was on par with Lydia and Stiles when it came to unraveling the mysteries behind the supernatural.

Mason, however, seemed to be on his way out of Beacon Hills as a teenager. While he was always ready to help the pack, he also seemed to have a similar mindset to Lydia when it came to getting a higher education and pursuing a different path. What made him decide to stay in Beacon Hills and join the force?

Does Scott Have More Betas?

Scott helping Liam in Teen Wolf Season 6

Though Scott McCall has a pack by the end of the Teen Wolf series, it's not a traditional one. It's not a group of wolves born from the same bloodline, or a group of wolves who have all been bitten by the same Alpha. It's not even entirely a group of wolves. Most of Scott's closest friends are supernatural creatures and they band together under his leadership without ever being forced into following him. His only true Beta is Liam, whom he bites into to keep him from falling from a building, causing Liam to become a werewolf in the first place.

With the Teen Wolf movie taking place years later, fans will be asking the question, has Scott created any more Betas? Has his pack grown? After all, he leaves Beacon Hills in the capable hands of Liam and his best friend Mason for a while, so the pack doesn't always have to be in close proximity. There could be more Betas coming to Beacon Hills, or Scott might have decided not to turn anyone else if he can help it.

Who Won't Survive The Movie?

Tyler Posey as Scott McCall Dylan O Brien as Stiles Stilinski Holland Roden as Lydia Martin Teen Wolf

While Teen Wolf didn't kill off a ton of its main characters during its run, when it did, those deaths were hugely impactful for the audience. With the movie reuniting so many familiar faces against a huge threat, it seems reasonable to think that not everyone will survive.

In fact, different points in the trailer seem to show Liam, Mason, Scott, and Derek all in danger at different points. Just which characters will make it out of the conflict alive?

How Will Teen Wolf Lead To The Wolf Pack Spin Off?

Sarah Michelle Gellar in The Crazy Ones.

While the upcoming Wolf Pack series for Paramount Plus is based on its own book, the show is also spinning out of the Teen Wolf universe. SDCC saw the announcement that Sarah Michelle Gellar would be involved in the series in front of and behind the camera.

Just how connected the two projects will be, however, is up in the air. Very little is known about the upcoming series other than it centering on a few teens who discover they're werewolves following wildfires.
