Cartoon Network officially renewed the hit series Teen Titans Go! for Season 8. Teen Titans Go! is a somewhat revamped version of the original Teen Titans series, which ran from 2003 to 2006. The series follows what teen superheroes Robin, Cyborg, Starfire, Raven, and Beast Boy do in their free time between fighting crime. Teen Titans Go! began streaming in 2003 and has aired over 300 episodes.

Despite Teen Titans Go! focusing on what the superhero team gets up to when they are not fighting crime, the series has little to no continuity with the original Teen Titans, save a few referential jokes for fans. Teen Titans Go! has received lukewarm reviews from many fans of the original, claiming that it does not hold up to Teen TitansDespite this, Teen Titans Go! has managed to run for five years longer than the original series, has released nearly 300 more episodes than Teen Titans, and seems to show no sign of slowing down.

Teen Titans Go

President of Warner Bros. Animation and Cartoon Network Studios, Sam Register, seems very hopeful for the future of Teen Titans Go! Register has stated that the "undeniable success of Teen Titans Go!" is all due to the "phenomenal work of executive producer Pete Michail and the show team." According to him, after the success of the series, which includes a theatrical film, many specials, and celebrity cameos, Teen Titans Go! has "no end in sight." Register finished by stating that Teen Titans Go! "has carved out its own lane in the acclaimed legacy established by the original Teen Titans animated series."

Whether fans of the original Teen Titans enjoy Teen Titans Go!, there's no denying that it's here to stay. For those avid fans of the Cartoon Network series, the time to get excited is now. With Teen Titans Go! previously sporting celebrity guest stars such as Stan Lee, "Weird Al" Yankovic, and Fall Out Boy, fans can start to speculate on who may be appearing in season 8. While no specific release date has been set, fans likely won't have long to wait as Teen Titans Go! is set to premiere later this year.
