Teen Mom’s Catelynn Lowell exposed co-star Ashley Jones’s pregnancy to some of their cast mates while taping an episode of Teen Mom: Family Reunion. Ashley and Briana DeJesus got into a fight that was heading toward a physical altercation when Catelynn chimed in with the news of Ashley’s pregnancy. It was clear that not all the other girls knew the news when Catelynn said it.
Catelynn took to her Instagram story to post an explanation for why she exposed Ashley’s pregnancy in front of the whole cast after the episode aired on MTV. “At the time of this whole altercation between Ashley and Brianna, there were only two of us girls who knew Ashley was pregnant.” One of the girls who didn’t know about the pregnancy was Jade Cline. Catelynn said after she found out about Ashley and Briana physically fighting was when she needed to let other people in on the risk Ashley was taking by getting in a fight while pregnant. She was worried about the safety of her and the baby.
Catelynn Puts “Safety Over Loyalty” Every Time
“Was it right of me to tell Jade about Ashley being pregnant? No!… but honestly, I never thought Ashley would ever get physical and take that kind of risk with someone knowing she’s pregnant!” Catelynn defended herself over revealing the information in the heat of the moment. She added, “All I know is that if I was ever trying to fight some girl, I’d want to know if she’s pregnant or not!” The Teen Mom star wrapped up her argument by explaining that she will “ALWAYS put safety over loyalty” when it is a situation like that.
Ashley and Briana have been publicly feuding, and since the two are both known for their large personalities, it makes sense that they are clashing. It seemed for a while that the two had put their issues aside, but while filming Teen Mom: Family Reunion season 2, the pair ended up in the physical altercation Catelynn was referring to, and MTV producers sent the girls home. Their feud continued on socials and Ashley and Briana both shared their versions of what happened. While the exact truth may never come out, neither girl is backing down from their version of events.
Some longtime viewers of the show are bothered by the behavior of the girls. While Teen Mom has seen a lot of drama over the years, sometimes it gets blown out of proportion and taken too far. Catelynn stands by her decision to interject herself into the fight, which was probably the right thing to do to protect a pregnant woman and her baby. Though it didn’t stop the fight entirely, it surely had an impact. Going forward it is unclear the girls’ relationship with MTV after their rogue behavior, but fans will have to wait for Teen Mom: Family Reunion’s next season to see where everyone stands.
