Season 9 of the popular MTV reality series Teen Mom began airing in January 2021 and fans definitely feel like they know these cast members well. Maci and Ryan's co-parenting has always been rocky and it has been the subject of many Teen Mom OG episodes. In a season 7 episode, Maci told Ryan that if he wanted to spend time with their son Bentley, he had to take a drug test.
This was one of the most dramatic storylines on the reality series as fans learned about Ryan's substance use. This came to light after Ryan was driving Mackenzie to get married and he fell asleep at the wheel.
Catelynn Decided To Give Carly Up For Adoption
In the first season of the show, Catelynn went to a retreat one weekend, and this helped her connect with others who were going through a similar situation. She and Tyler decided that adoption was officially the right choice for them and they found Brandon and Teresa, the couple who adopted Carly.

Tyler Dealt With His Father Butch Coming Home From Jail
One reason why Tyler and Catelynn bonded so much when they first began dating was the fact that they didn't grow up in solid and happy homes. Fans who saw their episode of 16 & Pregnant and the early seasons of Teen Mom know that they had a really tough time when they were young.

Fans have seen Amber have a baby with her then-boyfriend Andrew and then learned that there is audio of one particularly bad fight.
In season 6, Amber was engaged to Matt, and this situation became very uncertain as she and viewers learned more about him. It turned out that he had many children and Matt even took a polygraph test on the show as she was hearing that he had cheated on her, which is definitely one of the most dramatic plotlines.
Amber And Gary's Rocky Relationship
Amber doesn't have full custody of her daughter Leah and that leads to some dramatic moments with her ex and Leah's dad, Gary.
Amber and Gary's difficult and rocky relationship has been another dramatic storyline on Teen Mom. Years ago, Amber hurt Gary while the show was filming, which remains one of the most shocking moments on Teen Mom. Things have evolved between the former couple as Gary married Kristina, and Amber has been in a few serious relationships since.
