Teen Mom 2 star Jenelle Evans’ husband David Eason confirms he did kill her dog, Nugget. After months of speculation by the media, the couple is finally setting the record straight.

When the couple announced that Eason had killed Nugget, there were some serious allegations against Jenelle; she not only lost her dog, but she also lost her job on Teen Mom 2 and temporary custody of her three children, all the while being publicly shamed for defending her husband. After going back to court, David and Jenelle recently regained custody of the couple’s three children, Ensley, Kaiser, and David’s daughter Maryssa. Fans are still outraged with the inconsistencies with her statements, causing the investigation into Nugget's alleged shooting to be closed. In May, the Teen Mom 2 star told the police that her husband, David, had shot and killed her French bulldog, Nugget, because the dog had tried to bite their two-year-old daughter, Ensley.

Now, it has come to light that Eason had indeed killed their family dog. Openly admitting to People that he did shoot the dog on their property. He said that it was not a chore someone would want to do, but the decision involved protecting his daughter. Eason explained that when the dog bit his child on the face, he knew that the dog could possibly be aggressive and should not be around any child ever again. He felt the only outcome was to kill the dog, explaining that if he had put Nugget up for adoption, the same incident could possibly happen to another family. He also stated that he did not call the local authorities because the law stated that the dog would have had to be taken to a shelter and euthanized, and he joked that he was not going to pay anyone else to kill his dog.

Eason did tear up saying he loved his dog and still thinks about her every day. He admitted that it was hard for him, and the people who criticized him for his actions really did not understand, but still stood by his belief that it was a decision he had to make. Jenelle piped up during the interview as well, saying she had hoped the incident would have been able to stay private and within their own family. According to the Teen Mom 2 alum, her ex-boyfriend Nathan Griffith had found out from their son, Kaiser, who then quickly called the cops.

While the whole incident was a bit uncouth for most fans, Evans chalked it up to living a country lifestyle. She continued to defend Eason’s actions because she knew he was doing what was right to protect their daughter. Even though the pair hunt and fish, fans are still unsure whether they can ever get behind the Teen Mom stars again, making it very clear that the couple needs to change their way of thinking before they risk losing the support of their once die-hard fans.
