Teen Mom 2 star Javi Marroquin recently announced his engagement to girlfriend Lauren Comeau. The happy couple, who share a seven-month-old son, Eli, announced the big news on Instagram to show off the engagement ring and to gush about each other.
Fans first met Marroquin in Season 3 of MTV's Teen Mom 2, when he began dating the show's star, Kailyn Lowry. The two got engaged after less than a year of dating and were married in 2012. The following year, Lowry gave birth to their son, Lincoln. Despite trying to make their relationship work, which fans saw during Season 6 of Teen Mom 2, Lowry later filed for divorce in December 2015. After he and Lowry split, Marroquin began dating Comeau after meeting her at a mutual friend’s wedding. The two ended up breaking up briefly, and that's when Marroquin struck up a relationship with another Teen Mom 2 star, Briana DeJesus, before ending up back with his now-fiancé. Comeau gave birth to the couple's son, Eli, in November last year.
Marroquin announced his engagement to Comeau on Instagram with a post to his soon-to-be wife. The Teen Mom 2 star wrote, "June 17th I asked my best friend to marry me. Our sleepless (mainly yours) nights… our endless laughs… and our countless jokes to each other now can be forever." He went on to thank Comeau for everything that she does for him and their son and for her contribution to the couple's CrossFit gym. He wrote, "Without you, we wouldn’t be complete.” Comeau, who recently moved in with Marroquin and is currently pregnant with their second child, shared her own Instagram announcement seen below:
She wrote, “The perfect day, with the perfect proposal. I couldn’t have asked for anything more than walking the waterfront of my hometown with just my boys and my cousin stalking us in the trees." Comeau's cousin was there to help set up candles and flowers in a special spot where Marroquin would propose. And, while it all sounds like it took a long time to orchestrate, Marroquin told The Hollywood Gossip that it "was actually not really planned. I took the ring just in case." He then later got Comeau's family involved. Once the two of them reached the special spot, Marroquin got down on one knee and popped the question. At that point, he said, Comeau started to cry as she said "Yes."
Marroquin also involved his son Lincoln in the proposal, which won't be aired on Teen Mom 2 because Comeau wanted to keep the moment private. When he asked Lincoln if he wanted Comeau to be his stepmom, the five-year-old replied, "Just a little bit." Lincoln's mom, however, didn't know about the engagement beforehand. It's not surprising Marroquin didn't share the news with Lowry, considering their tumultuous relationship and the fact that she's said in the past that Marroquin only has children with women so they won't leave him. Regardless, Marroquin and his new fiancé don't seem to be fazed by what anyone thinks of their relationship. Comeau finished her Instagram post to her future husband writing: "I'm ready for whatever this crazy life throws at us as long as I got you."
