Fans were shocked but not too surprised when Teddi Mellencamp got fired from The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills. She appeared on the show for three seasons, but many believed she was a boring addition to the show. Following a season that was rocked by a cheating scandal involving former housewife Denise Richards, Teddi was given the ax even after Denise left the show.

It looks like executives may have already been considering giving Teddi the boot after season 11. She didn't have a standout storyline during her last season, and her comments to Denise over the affair allegations with Brandi made her a target among fans. To make matters worse, in the weeks leading up to Teddi's RHOBH firing, her diet plan faced backlash after it was deemed a starvation meal plan that harassed its users. She took to social media to defend her diet plan and respond to the criticism. But just a few weeks later, Teddi was out of her job on television. Reality hit Teddi all at once, but she remained patient for a comeback.

Shortly after season 12 aired, Teddi and Kyle Richards teased her cameo in the new season. On the podcast Teddi Tea Pod With Teddi Mellencamp, Kyle teased that she had to talk Teddi into making a cameo on season 12, but that she happily agreed to do it. When asked if this comeback was really happening, Teddi coyly responded saying, “You'll have to see.” Not only did Teddi get fired from RHOBH, but they ended up hiring her good friend, Crystal Kung Minkoff. On SiriusXM Radio’s Jeff Lewis Live, Teddi said, “Crystal was my friend that I referred to be on the show. They hired her and fired me!

Despite the blow, Teddi managed to save face by agreeing to appear in the new season as a friend of the show, although it’s unclear why producers thought it would be a good idea to bring her back at this point. On Jeff Lewis Live, while speaking of her return on the show, Teddi said, “I immediately felt the pressure to [move things along] when I went back.” When it comes to the backlash Teddi received from RHOBH fans over her bringing up Brandi's allegations towards Denise during a group dinner, Teddi went on to say, “I 100 percent only spoke from the heart. I wouldn’t say anything that I didn’t truly feel.” She also revealed that Denise still has her blocked on social media as a result.

When considering all of the reasons why Teddi may have gotten fired from the show, it looks like it stemmed from negative reactions from fans, needing a cast shakeup, and wanting to add some diversity to the show. At least Teddi helped producers find what seems to be a solid housewife replacement. Crystal has been receiving positive reviews from viewers who like the dynamic she brings to The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills. Maybe she'll be able to pave a lane for Teddi's full-time return? Only time will tell, but it’s unlikely fans would welcome her back with open arms.
