The characters on AppleTV's Ted Lasso are all beloved for their vastly different personality traits that make their interactions hilarious and allow them to learn from one another. Ted's kindness rubs off on more detached people like Rebecca and Roy, and Nate's great ideas inspire Ted and Beard to revamp their coaching styles.
If these characters were to exist in the same realm as Harry Potter, they would end up all over the place in terms of Hogwarts Houses. Some like Beard and Nate would stick together given their unique way of thinking and approaches to the game, while Rupert and Rebecca might be reunited due to their methods of achieving success.
Rupert Mannion - Slytherin
Rebecca's ex-husband Rupert left her with a football club she didn't want and traded her in for a much younger woman with her same name. He has proven to be cunning and ruthless, not letting anything stand in the way of him and what he wants.
If the Sorting Hat had its way with Rupert, it would place him in Slytherin. Slytherins are known for their cunning nature and being rather shrewd at times. Rupert puts himself first and everyone else second; some may call that ambitious, while others may see it as cruel and unkind.
Sam Obisanya - Hufflepuff
Sam Obisanya was the first recipient of Ted Lasso's infamous 'be a goldfish' speech, and there was no better person to get that pep talk.
Sam's smile and charm have made him a wonderful team player. Never giving up, always striving to be the best he can be, all the while being humble and kind makes Sam a Hufflepuff badger.
Leslie Higgins - Hufflepuff
Leslie Higgins just wants everyone around him to be happy, which is why much like Sam, he's a Hufflepuff. His loyalty runs deep, even if he sometimes finds himself on the wrong team.
Leslie felt bad about initially betraying Ted to please Rebecca, proving that he had the Hufflepuff morality and ethical nature. He eventually got her to come around and ease up him, proving that kindness always wins. His smile and cheerful energy make it impossible not to root for him and his fellow Hufflepuffs.
Jamie Tartt - Slytherin
Slytherins are known for being bold, ambitious, and a little selfish. Lucky for them, star player Jamie Tartt has all of those qualities.
Jamie has always looked at football as if there were an 'I' in team and stops at nothing to get exactly what is going to benefit him. In his relationship with Keeley, he constantly brushed her aside to further his own public image. Slytherins aren't all bad though, and his skillful determination makes him a competitive athlete who ultimately helps his teammates when it comes down to it.
Coach Beard - Ravenclaw
Coach Beard may be a man of few words, but when he does speak, it's all wisdom. His mind is sharp and he balances out Ted's sometimes overly goofy energy.
Coach Beard would be sorted into Ravenclaw because of his intellect. His knowledge of the game as well as life makes him a bit of a brainiac. He also is a huge chess fan, proving that he is always putting his brain to good use and offering plenty of analytical feedback to the team.
Keeley Jones - Gryffindor
Keeley Jones began Season 1 of the show as Jamie Tartt's girlfriend and ended it being a hardworking businesswoman, Rebecca's number one confidant, and a shoulder for Roy Kent to lean on.
The Sorting Hat would definitely place Keeley in Gryffindor for her 'never give up' attitude and constant courage. She takes risks, even if she's not sure how they'll play out. With Roy, she wore her heart on her sleeve despite getting hurt by Jamie in the past. She's bubbly and playful and confident to boot.
Nate Shelley - Ravenclaw
Nathan Shelley was rather mild-mannered when Ted Lasso first met him, but he proved to be the most well-versed in football knowledge out of anyone. He was creative in thinking of ways to help the team and witty enough to put a smile on Ted and Beard's faces even after getting picked on by players like Jamie.
Because of this, Nate The Great is a member of the Ravenclaw house. Like other Ravenclaws, he is unique in his intellectual approach and thrives through his originality. His different ideas brought a new perspective to the club that it definitely needed.
Roy Kent - Gryffindor
Roy Kent is a tough case to crack, as he usually is so emotionally guarded that it's hard for anyone to connect or get through to him. Despite this, his status as team captain indicated that he is a good leader, and his ability to pass the torch and acknowledge his aging talent proves that he is an honest man.
If anyone on the show were to embody a Gryffindor like Harry Potter himself, it would be Roy. His courage to lead his team even when the odds were stacked against them made that clear. He even acts like an intimidating lion at times, but on the inside, he is a compassionate, good-hearted person.
Rebecca Welton - Slytherin
Rebecca Welton's brash nature scared a lot of the other characters at first, but not Ted. He knew that underneath her harsh exterior was a woman who was strong, resourceful, and incredibly determined.
Those traits all fit those of a Slytherin, which is exactly what house Rebecca would belong to. She is cunning but for the greater (not individual) good and can do anything she sets her mind to. People don't usually stand in her way because it's a lost cause, and if one were to betray her, they'd be victims of a snake bite.
Ted Lasso - Hufflepuff
Ted Lasso could be the spokesperson for the Hufflepuff house. He is caring, patient, open-minded, genuine, and compassionate among so many other things. He embodies every Hufflepuff characteristic to its fullest degree and would wear yellow with pride.
Like his fellow badgers, Ted sees the best in people and only does things that are going to better the world. He has a strong moral code that he holds other people to do, refusing to play the games of his manipulative peers. Ted has the best heart and the sweetest soul and would make other Hufflepuffs proud.
