In the miniseries Tech-On Avengers, currently on sale in print and digital, the Avengers are facing a crisis unlike any other, having all been stripped of their powers. Needing new ways to fight evil, Iron Man has designed giant mech suits for the team, designed to mimic the heroes’ original powers. It's now been announced that in 2022, Marvel, in partnership with Bandai-Namco, will release a line of toys based on Tech-On Avengers.

Set outside the mainstream Marvel continuity, Tech-On Avengers kicks off when the Red Skull, using shards of the Infinity Stones, steals the powers away from Earth’s heroes. Undeterred, Iron Man creates a line of sentai-inspired battle suits for his teammates that mimic their appearances and powers. These mecha-suit heroes must now stop the Red Skull, who plans to use the Infinity shards to finally realize his visions of conquest. Tech-On Avengers is produced in cooperation with Bandai-Namco, one of Japan’s premier video game companies and is written by Jim Zub with art by Jeff Chamba Cruz. Artist Eiichi Shimizu provided the designs for the Avengers’ new mecha armor and now those epic suits will form the basis for a new toy line coming from Bandai-Namco in 2022.

Tech-On Avengers writer Jim Zub shared the news on his Twitter account. Zub shared pictures of four of the action figures in the Tweet: Captain Marvel, Spider-Man, Wolverine, and Black Panther; another Tweet showed the previously revealed Captain America and Iron Man. Zub did not give an exact release date, only saying the toys would arrive in 2022; however, Amazon has listed the Iron Man toy going on sale in January. Fans responded overwhelmingly positively, liking the tweet and commenting on how great the toys looked.

If there was ever a Marvel property that begged for a toy line, it is Tech-On Avengers. The book and mech armors invoke the best of sentai properties such as Mighty Morphin Power Rangers and Kamen Rider. The toys are fully articulated, allowing for them to be set in a variety of poses, and the attention to detail is second to none. The Tech-On Avengers toys will look amazing gracing the homes and offices of fans. The villains in the series also have mech suits—even if the villains are just illusions created by the Red Skull. The designs, for characters such as Red Skull, Loki, and Ultron, are as equally impressive as the heroes, and if this line is a hit, toys for the villains are the next logical step.

Tech-On Avengers has given fans a version of Earth’s Mightiest Heroes they have never seen before—the team has traded in powers for battle armor and now these epic designs will get their own amazing toy line in 2022.
