The Real Housewives of Orange County is gaining OG The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star, Taylor Armstrong, after a six-year hiatus from the franchise. Taylor experienced life-changing events during her last go-round as a housewife that caused her to step away from the show. Although Taylor characterized her previous time on RHOBH as “traumatic,” she is ready for a fresh start; RHOC will allow her to show a different side of her personality.

Taylor’s reality television resurgence on RHOC proves that she may be different from the person fans were introduced to over a decade ago. She teased her return when she joined the franchise spin-off, The Real Housewives Ultimate Girl’s Trip season 2, earlier this year. Taylor’s altercation with fellow RHOBH alum, Brandi Glanville, reminded fans of Taylor’s iconic moment during RHOBH’s heyday that subsequently went viral as the “Woman Yelling at a Cat” meme. Drama seemed to follow Taylor wherever she went due to her problems at home, but this time around, Taylor ensures that her time on RHOC will be less drama and more fun. Taylor wasn’t a housewife for very long during her original Real Housewives stint, but after keeping a relatively low profile with the occasional Real Housewives cameo, now is the best time to see if Taylor, who stopped watching RHOBH, can earn a permanent spot in Orange County.

One indicator that Taylor’s time on RHOC will be different from RHOBH is her latest marriage to John H. Bluher. In RHOBH season 1, Taylor went through a lot behind the scenes in her marriage to her now-deceased ex-husband, Russell Armstrong. Taylor admitted that she separated from Russell while on the show after suffering years of physical and emotional abuse. Russell subsequently took his own life, which affected Taylor’s mental health as she tried to maintain her composure on RHOBH. Taylor’s marriage to John appears to be healthier than her previous one with Russell, so one can only hope RHOC's producers allow fans a glimpse into her home life.

Taylor, who remains a RHOBH fan favorite, will be new to RHOC, but this isn’t her first housewives show. She earned her housewife stripes as a diamond holder on RHOBH during its first three seasons. Viewers watched Taylor navigate her challenging marriage while being a mother and playing mediator for her fellow RHOBH castmates. During her last season of RHOBH, Taylor also had to handle a $1.5 million lawsuit stemming from the death of her husband. Taylor’s time on RHUGT season 2 proved that she is ready to return to the fray with a new attitude.

Taylor will make her debut on The Real Housewives of Orange County in 2023, and this time around, she promises it will be more fun to watch her. It is exciting that Taylor is returning to the show free from the baggage that soured her initial time on the franchise. Maybe more ex-housewives will follow in Taylor’s footsteps.
