Channing Tatum ascends to Jupiter; Gillian Anderson, Haley Joel Osment, and Rufus Sewell will Follow You Down; Sparks fly as Julianne Hough and Josh Duhamel find a Safe Haven and Gemma Arterton hedges her bets with Ben Affleck and Justin Timberlake in Runner Runner.
What’s the film going to be like? I’ll let Tatum tell you:
"It's going to be a crazy action movie from the [directors] of The Matrix. They're going to reinvent the wheel as far as action goes, all over again."
Sounds good, but what’s it about?
"Higher forms of life [who] are watching us from other, albeit this time non-meta worlds, but actual, other worlds, as in planets and moons."
Not sure if that clears things up, but Mila Kunis is also on-board as a Russian immigrant "who is busily scrubbing toilets for a living. Unbeknownst to her, she actually possesses the same perfect genetic makeup as the Queen of the Universe and is therefore a threat to her otherwise immortal rule."
It’s all making sense now.

2. Gillian Anderson, Haley Joel Osment, Rufus Sewell and Victor Garber will star in the sci-fi mystery I’ll Follow You Down for director Richie Mehta.
According to Deadline:
“The story is about a scientist, Gabriel (Sewell), who mysteriously disappears during a business trip, devastating his wife Marika (Anderson) and son Erol (Osment). Erol and his grandfather (Garber) years later make a shocking discovery about Gabriel’s whereabouts.”
The film is currently shooting in Toronto, and I’m sure that quite a few X-Files fans are rejoicing that Anderson is returning to the world of science fiction. The truth is out there.
3. The Nicholas Sparks money train continues along the track with the news that Julianne Hough and Josh Duhamel will star in Safe Haven for Relativity Media.
Lasse Hallstrom will direct the film about “a young woman whose arrival in a small North Carolina town prompts its tight-knit community to question her mysterious past.”
I can imagine there will be tears, romance and drama. Not necessarily in that order.
According to Variety:
“Timberlake plays a Princeton student cheated out of his tuition money playing online poker who ends up the right-hand man of the site's corrupt boss (Affleck). Arterton plays Timberlake's love interest.”
Lincoln Lawyer director Brad Furman calls the shots on this online gambling thriller which starts shooting in Puerto Rico later this month.
Some dude called Leonardo DiCaprio is one of the producers on the film.
That's it for now. See you at the movies.
