Cate Blanchett plays a world-famous conductor in the trailer for TÁR. TÁR is written and directed by Todd Field. It's his first film in 16 years, with his last being 2006's Little Children starring Kate Winslet. Blanchett stars as the titular Lydia Tár, the first ever female chief conductor of a major German orchestra, who is considered one of the greatest living composers. The award-winning actress shares the screen with Mark Strong, Nina Hoss, Julian Glover, and more.

Focus Features shared the trailer on YouTube, with the video spotlighting the ethereal nature of TÁR. The film is set within the international world of classical music and explores the creative process in unique ways, with imagery that looks like visual poetry. While the trailer offers glimpses at the story, with characters seen in heated arguments, embracing, and playing music, it relies on a barrage of intense images, enticing arthouse enthusiasts with the tease of a film that may play with the expectations of a traditional narrative.
