Netflix's Tall Girl 2 returns to the world of Ruby Bridges High with several new characters and a returning core cast. Original Tall Girl writer Sam Wolfson also returns to pen the Netflix sequel, while there is a change in the director's seat, with A Year and Change producer Emily Ting helming the Tall Girl 2 production. Despite a lukewarm critical reception for the first Tall Girl movie in 2019, Netflix reported over 41 million households streaming the coming-of-age rom-com upon release, with Ting and company looking to emulate this commercial success once again.
First released on February 11th, 2022, Tall Girl 2 continues the story of its titular protagonist at Ruby Bridges High School. Following her rousing homecoming speech, eponymous "tall girl" Jody Kreyman (Ava Michelle) is enjoying her burgeoning popularity and newfound boyfriend earned by "standing tall." However, Jody quickly finds popularity has its own set of pitfalls, with her innocent miscommunications causing rifts with those closest to her.
Tall Girl 2 sees the return of its original cast members, with familiar cameo faces such as Cowboys' Steve Zahn and Half Magic's Angela Kinsey also back as Jody's loving parents. Ava Michelle as Jodi Kreyman
The titular tall girl Jodi Kreyman naturally returns for Tall Girl 2, where she is forced to enter new romantic territory and contend with a burgeoning love triangle at Ruby Bridges High. Contrary to her somewhat shy Tall Girl 2 character, actor Ava Michelle is also a dancer, singer, and model alongside her recent film appearances in the Tall Girl franchise. In particular, Michelle is lauded for her phenomenal dance talents, which have landed her appearances on series such as Dance Moms and So You Think You Can Dance: The Next Generation.
Sabrina Carpenter as Harper Kreyman
Jodi's sister Harper Kreyman also returns for Tall Girl 2, with the sibling's relationship evolving as Jodi matures. Whereas Jodi primarily looks to Harper for dating advice in Tall Girl, the pair find themselves on much more even footing the second time around. Tall Girl 2's Harper Kreyman is played by Sabrina Carpenter, who is best known for her tear-jerking performance as Sammy Brown in the biopic romance Clouds.
Griffin Gluck as Jake Dunkleman
After finally kissing Jodi using his milk crate at the end of Tall Girl, Tall Girl 2 sees Jake Dunkleman officially become her boyfriend. However, this transition from Jodi's life-long friend to overt partner is not easy for Jake, who contends with his fair share of problems in Tall Girl 2. Jake is played by Griffin Gluck, who rose to prominence as Gabe in Netflix's fantasy horror Locke & Key.
Luke Eisner as Stig Mohlin
Jodi's long-time admirer and Jake's love rival Stig Mohlin is also back in Tall Girl 2, with the Swedish exchange student crowned Homecoming King at the end of the first movie. Stig is played by menswear model Luke Eisner, whose initial turn in Tall Girl was his breakout acting role in the movie industry.

Jan Luis Castellanos as Tommy Torres: Tommy Torres is a new, mysterious student at Ruby Bridges High school with a penchant for being a troublemaker. Torres is played by Jan Luis Castellanos, who plays Topher in Hulu's Runaways in addition to his 13 Reasons Why role.
Steve Zahn as Richie Kreyman: Jodi's embarrassing yet well-meaning father Richie Kreyman returns for the Tall Girl sequel, although he does not attempt to host a Tip Toppers event this time around. Richie is played by the incomparable Steve Zahn, whose recent turn in HBO's The White Lotus is the latest in a long line of impressive acting credits dating back to 1992.
Angela Kinsey as Helaine Kreyman: The matriarch of the Kreyman household also returns in Tall Girl 2 alongside Richie in time to see their younger daughter's confidence soar. Helaine Kreyman is played by actor, podcaster, and TV panelist Angela Kinsey, best known for playing Angela Martin in The Office.
Anjelika Washington as Fareeda: Jodi's best friend and long-time confidante, Fareeda helps bolster Jodi's confidence on numerous occasions in Tall Girl 2. Alongside her role in Netflix's Tall Girl movies, Fareeda actor Anjelika Washington is best known for her portrayal of Beth Chapel in the DC Universe series Stargirl.
Rico Paris as Schnipper: One of Jodi's two primary bullies, Schnipper has to ruefully watch Jodi grow into her own skin across Tall Girl 2. Schnipper is played by Rico Paris, whose other roles include small parts in Better Call Saul and The Resident.
Clara Wilsey as Kimmy Stitcher: Jodi's other bully also returns for Tall Girl 2, with both Kimmy Stitcher and her accomplice Schnipper plotting to steal Jodi's newfound thunder. Kimmy is played by Clara Wilsey, whose only other character role to date has come in the HBO series Ballers.
Johanna Liauw as Stella: Tall Girl 2's other newcomer is a tall Swedish girl named Stella, who quickly becomes the object of many boys' affections at Ruby Bridges High. Stella is played by Johanna Liauw, whose role in Tall Girl 2 is her first feature film appearance.
