Tails of Iron, a new hand-drawn RPG featuring Doug Cockle, the voice of Geralt of Rivia from The Witcher, as the narrator will be launching for the PC and consoles later this year. Tails of Iron is a gritty, challenging indie RPG developed by Odd Bug Studio and published by United Label. The game debuted at E3's Future Games Show alongside other AAA and indie games. Players will be able to explore a unique side-scroller world and battle twisted frog monsters as the Redgi, Heir to the Rat Throne.

Tails of Iron will include a number of popular exploration mechanics from other RPG games, that players will use as they work to take back the Kingdom from the Frog Clan. The game includes recipes for cooking and blueprints to craft armor, weapons, and vehicles, like an armored mole-mobile. The combat in Tails of Iron will be a solid challenge for fans of difficult encounters, including fighting skills to master, and attack styles that can be customized depending on selected weapons and armor. Mastering these styles will be part of what it will take to overthrow the Frog Clan's generals.

Taking a page out of other popular RPG games like Minecraft, exploration will cover different biomes in Tails of Iron, each possessing unique areas and visuals. Players can team up with a party of characters to explore certain missions within the six biomes or choose to take on side-quests alone. Doing so is the perfect way to find rare blueprints, forage for items and plants, or earn gold. However, every biome is filled with dangerous enemies, so players will want to make sure they have taken time to prepare before venturing out to challenge these dangerous opponents.

Physical Preorder For Tails Of Iron Comes With A Bonus DLC Pack

While Tails of Iron doesn't have an official release date listed on its Steam page, the game can still be preordered for the PC, Nintendo Switch, Xbox, and PlayStation. Preordering physical copies will come with the DLC The Crimson Knight, including 3 Armor Skins, 3 Helmet Skins, 3 Weapon Skins, and 3 Shield Skins. The game has been confirmed for release at a later date in 2021, and hopefully, that date will be announced soon for those who are interested in preordering.

For fans of The Witcher games, having the chance to hear Doug Cockle voicing the narrative of Tails of Iron will be enough to give the game a try. However, because Tails of Iron is vastly different from the massively popular RPG series Cockle is known for, it might not appeal to everyone who is normally interested in his work. Regardless, Tails of Iron will likely provide an interesting and unique RPG experience as players discover all the Kingdom has to offer Redgi and his team of frog-slaying companions.
