Showcased entirely on a computer screen, Unfriended follows a group of teens who are terrorized over the internet by the ghost of one of their deceased friends. The ghost, a classmate named Laura Barns, seeks revenge on the other teens for the bullying she endured from them before taking her own life. Summary
One year ago, student Laura Barns (Sossaman) committed suicide after an embarrassing video of her passed out at a party was posted on the Internet, which was the source of much ridicule and humiliation. Six of her classmates were especially egregious in their treatment of her, and this group decides to have a Skype video chat one night. An unknown seventh person, using Laura's old Skype account, crashes the call and begins to threaten the group unless they log out.
