As a darkness builds at the center of a world-renowned dance company, its artistic director (Swinton), a young American new to the troupe (Johnson), and a grieving psychotherapist (Ebersdorf) become entangled in a bloody, sighing nightmare.
This is a remake of the 1977 film, which was directed by Dario Argento. A new version of the horror classic was in development for some time, first announced back in 2008. Call Me By Your Name's Luca Guadagnino signed on to helm in 2015, with Dakota Johnson and Tilda Swinton joining the cast shortly after. In 2016, key supporting roles were filled out by Mia Goth, Chloe Grace Moretz, and others. Filming took place over two stretches of principal photography. The first ran from October to December 2016, and then it was completed from February to March 2017.
Guadagnino hopes to make sequels at some point.
