A remake of the classic survival horror title, Resident Evil 2 reinvents the iconic game with polished graphics and modern mechanics. Rookie police officer Leon Kennedy's first day at the Raccoon City Police Department gets off to the worst start imaginable when the city is overrun with zombies infected with the T-Virus. Joined by Claire Redfield who is searching for her brother Chris, the pair explore the police department to try to bring order to the chaos around them.

Summary
Survival horror is reborn again with Resident Evil 2, a remake of the 1998 PlayStation classic. Leon S. Kennedy, a rookie Raccoon City police offer starting his first day, and Claire Redfield, a college student, trying to find her missing brother Chris, meet amid a strange outbreak. The two discover that the dead have risen, and the city has been overrun with zombies. Split up after an accident, the two will simultaneously strive to escape and save whomever they can before the city consumes them all. Utilizing the new RE Engine popularized with Resident Evil 7, players will experience a reimagined take on the classic Raccoon city, with the core story intact but with modern revisions to bring the game in line with the newer entries. Gameplay now utilizes the third-person over-the-shoulder perspective, starting with Resident Evil 4, but with more mobility as players can aim and shoot simultaneously. Unfortunately, ammo is scarce, so players must be careful to have enough to survive some of the game's more challenging encounters. A remake of Resident Evil 3 followed up Resident Evil 2, and Leon will return in the 2023 remake of Resident Evil 4.
