PlayerUnknown's BATTLEGROUNDS represents the next evolution of the battle royale shooter genre, created by Brendan "PlayerUnknown" Greene who helped birth the genre with battle royale mods in ARMA 2 and DayZ before consulting on H1Z1: King of the Kill. Then he joined South Korea's Bluehole Studio Inc. to create the game named after his own online name.
PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds (PUBG for short) features on game-mode that has 100 players parachute onto a remote, desolate island with nothing but their own wits and skills. Players must loot, scavenge, and kill for gear and weapons as the playable map continually shrinks until only one player remains. A death means you're out and games can be played solo, in duos, or in four-player squads. There's currently one main playable map with two more in development. PUBG is available on PC and coming to Xbox One this fall.
