Summary

Berlin. Forty years from today. A roiling city of immigrants, where East crashes against West in a science-fiction Casablanca. Leo Beiler (Skarsgard), a mute bartender has one reason and one reason only for living here, and she’s disappeared. But when Leo’s search takes him deeper into the city’s underbelly, an odd pair of American surgeons (led by Rudd) seem to be the only recurring clue, and Leo can’t tell if they can help, or who he should fear most This is the latest film from director Duncan Jones, who made a name for himself with high concept sci-fi films like Moon and Source CodeMute was in development hell for several years, but Jones finally announced it would be his next movie in November 2015. He drew inspiration from Blade Runner while crafting its world, and started production in September 2016. Jones previously described Mute as a "spiritual sequel" to Moon and envisions it as the second part of an unofficial trilogy. He has expressed a desire to see Sam Rockwell cameo in Mute as his Moon character, Sam Bell. In addition to being released on Netflix, there is a plan to give Mute a limited theatrical release. It was originally to premiere in 2017, before being pushed back to 2018. Want to know more about Mute?
