Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater
Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater is the third mainline entry in the "Solid" series of the Metal Gear franchise and canonically takes place before the events of Metal Gear Solid. Players assume the role of the original "Snake," who would eventually become known as "Big Boss." When Snake's former mentor is said to have defected to the Soviet Union after a portable warhead is fired, he is sent to dispose of her to help avert a political catastrophe during the Cold War era.
