Summary
Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity is set 100 years before The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild but in an alternate timeline before the Calamity occurs. Link, a new soldier in the Hylian army, rises the ranks quickly and is assigned as Princess Zelda's royal guard. While training, Link and Sheikah warrior Impa discover a mysterious egg-like robot from a future where Ganon has succeeded and Hyrule has been destroyed. The king of Hyrule enlists Link, Zelda, Impa, and the four guardians to find the Master Sword and stop the dark prophet Astor from reviving Ganon in their timeline, destroying everything once again. Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity mechanically and design wise, is a sequel to Hyrule Warriors in that it plays much like Dynasty Warriors titles, where players select heroes from the Zelda franchise and battle endless hordes of creatures from the same universe. Characters all have their own unique attacks and can have their move lists changed entirely by acquiring new weapon types. Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity was released exclusively for Nintendo Switch on November 20 2022.
