Synopsis

Set to the all-new sonic backdrop of Awesome Mix 2, Marvel Studios’ Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 continues the team’s adventures as they traverse the outer reaches of the cosmos. The Guardians must fight to keep their newfound family together as they unravel the mystery of Peter Quill’s true parentage. Old foes become new allies and fan-favorite characters from the classic comics will come to our heroes’ aid as the Marvel Cinematic Universe continues to expand.

The original Guardians of the Galaxy first appeared in the January 1969 issue of Marvel Super-Heroes. Nearly 50 years later, the team has seen several members in various comic lines - including Iron Man. For the films, writer/director James Gunn was primarily influenced by the modern incarnation of the group, which features Star-Lord, Gamora, Drax the Destroyer, Rocket, and Groot.

The Guardians of the Galaxy will return in Avengers: Infinity War, and Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 has also been confirmed.
