Summary

Directed by and starring Adam Saunders, Dotty & Soul puts viewers into the perspective of Ethan Cox (Saunders), an entrepreneur with an intense personality who owns a self-driving car company and looks to earn record profits by launching his line. However, a racially insensitive Halloween costume choice jeopardizes Ethan's entire venture and career. As a last-ditch effort to save him and his investors, he hires Dotty, a Black 71-year-old snack cart vendor named Dotty (Leslie Uggams) to act in the role of CEO as he guides her in the process. However, Dotty isn't the type to be pushed around and has ideas for a business of her own. Butting heads, Ethan and Dotty will learn to work together and stress the importance and value of diversity. Dotty & Soul premiered at the San Diego International Film Festival on October 21 2022.
