Synopsis

Summer of 1983, Northern Italy. An American-Italian is enamored by an American student who comes to study and live with his family. Together they share an unforgettable summer full of music, food, and romance that will forever change them.

This film is based on the novel of the same name by André Aciman and serves as the final installment of director Luca Guadagnino’s thematic Desire trilogy, which also includes I Am Love and A Bigger SplashCall Me By Your Name premiered at the Sundance Film Festival in 2017 and earned widespread critical acclaim, with many praising it for its poignant portrayal of first love. In particular, Armie Hammer and Timothée Chalamet’s performances have received high marks, with the former being seen as one of the frontrunners in the Best Supporting Actor race at the Oscars. The film itself is in the running for other key nominations, including Best Picture and Best Adapted Screenplay.
