A television anthology series that shows the dark side of life and technology.

The show was created by Charlie Brooker, with the first season premiering on British Channel 4 in 2011. Black Mirror is notable for its dark, satirical edge that provides social commentary, particularly in the realm of continuously evolving technology. Each episode has a different cast, location, and even reality. The first two seasons were divided into six episode series. Netflix picked up the third series, and a fourth one is on the way.

Black Mirror is critically acclaimed, receiving two Primetime Emmy Awards (for Outstanding Writing and Outstanding Television Movie) along with several other accolades throughout its run. The franchise is continuing to expand, with Brooker announcing in 2017 a book series is in the works.
