Summary
Based on the true story of survival, a young couple's chance encounter leads them first to love, and then on the adventure of a lifetime as they face one of the most catastrophic hurricanes in recorded history. STX Entertainment acquired the rights to Adrift in February 2017, which was when Shailene Woodley was confirmed as one of the stars. Miles Teller was originally in line to play the role that eventually went to Sam Clafin, but he had to pass due to schedule conflicts. Principal photography took place in Fiji during July 2017.
