Sylvester Stallone is the latest Hollywood megastar to be accused of sexual assault, leading many to question if there will ever be an end to this rabbit hole of shame for the industry.

Star of movies like Judge Dredd, Cliffhanger, and Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, Stallone has also held up franchises like The Expendables, Rambo, and Rocky during his 47-year career in cinema. Not just an actor, the 71-year-old has also been writing and directing movies for many years. However, he is now facing questions over some very serious accusations.

Coming from a police report obtained by The Daily Mail, Stallone and his now deceased bodyguard Michael De Luca are both accused of sexually assaulting a 16-year-old girl while filming Over the Top in July 1986. The victim alleges that she was staying at the same hotel as Stallone and De Luca when she was invited up to actor's suite. Stallone would've been 40 at the time, and the report goes on to say that the pair had sex while De Luca waited in the bathroom.

Worryingly, the incident is said to have escalated when Stallone instigated a threesome, forced the girl to give both men oral sex, and then threatened to "bash her head in" if she went to the authorities. She has remained anonymous since, and although going to the police at the time, she was said to be too "humiliated and ashamed" to press charges against either of the men.

UPDATE: Stallone's spokesperson Michelle Bega has issued the following statement to The Wrap, regarding these allegations:

“This is a ridiculous, categorically false story. No one was ever aware of this story until it was published today, including Mr. Stallone. At no time was Mr. Stallone ever contacted by any authorities or anyone else regarding this matter.”

As for the report, retired detective sergeant John Samolovitch headed up the sexual assault unit at the time and confirmed it to be true. However, with the girl reporting the incident at the time, it is unclear why it has taken until now for the allegations to come to light.

The Stallone case in just one in a number of high-profile assault claims in recent weeks. Starting with Harvey Weinstein, Hollywood has been ripped apart as actors, directors, and crew from across the film industry have been accused of inappropriate behavior. Kevin Spacey was fired from House of Cards amidst the media storm, while actors like Tom Sizemore and Jeffrey Tambor have their acting career up in the air thanks to similar cases.

The big question is how this could/should affect Stallone's future in front and behind the camera. With upcoming movies like Creed II and a presumed return as Stakar Ogord in the MCU, this could be the tip of a huge iceberg for the screen icon.
