Sylvester Stallone revealed he is going to take part in a reality TV show with his family back in August, but he recently shared why he decided to make a change and be a part of a completely different genre of television. Sylvester has been known to star in blockbuster movies like Rocky and Rambo. Now he and his family are now working with the same production team that made Keeping Up With The Kardashians, to make a yet-unnamed reality show of their own.

Sylvester told The Hollywood Reporter that as he has gotten older, he looks back and regrets not spending as much time with his children as he could have. He says that is “one of the reasons I wanted to do the reality show that I’ve been taking a lot of s**t for.” He said that it’s a good way to be able to spend time with his children, and he is excited that viewers will get to see him in his element. Being behind the camera and his family being able to be there along with him is a huge selling point of doing the show for Sylvester.

Sylvester has recently been in the news for his rocky relationship with his wife of 25 years, Jennifer Flavin. She filed for divorce in August, but since then they have reconciled. When asked by The Hollywood Reporter if that part of his life was going to be in the upcoming show he said, “Of course, it’s part of the show.” By the sound of things, Sylvester isn't afraid to get candid about his life and share things that are usually personal—which is exactly what makes a good reality show.

Ahead of the release of his new show on Paramount+, Tulsa King, he talked about how excited he is to finally be able to play a mobster. The show was created by Taylor Sheridan and Sylvester’s character will be a mafia boss who has just been released from prison. Keeping up with his early movie success has been a challenge, but he is excited to be doing a TV show for the first time as opposed to a film.

Sylvester also talked to The Hollywood Reporter about people assuming he wasn’t doing well because he is so-called "stooping" to reality television, but this is something he insists he wants to share his real truth. He believes doing reality TV isn't an example of him struggling, but rather him doing what he loves—working behind the camera and spending time with his family as well. The show doesn’t have a name yet, but since it is being produced by iconic people who have done other reality TV before, fans are excited to see a show about a different kind of family than they are used to behind the scenes.
