Warning! Sweet Paprika is a MATURE comic series.

Readers will have a tough time picking a cover for Sweet Paprika #2 as the five cover options revealed by Image Comics are all gorgeous. Sweet Paprika has been called Sex & the City meets Devil Wears Prada (with some Bridget Jones's Diary thrown into the mix). This twelve-issue limited comic book series from Mirka Andolfo is about a workaholic devil named Paprika who finds herself drawn to the angel Dill. But will Paprika allow her heart to be penetrated?

Andolfo is an international, best-selling writer whose works include DC Comics: BombshellsHex Wives, Ms. Marvel, and Fanboys vs. Zombies. Her creator-owned title Sweet Paprika is part of a multimedia project that will be turning the comic book series into an animated project produced by Grey Ladder Productions, Arancia Studio, and Wild Sheep Content. It will be directed by the Emmy Award-winner Gabriele Pennacchioli (Love, Death & Robots).

Image Comics unveiled all five covers on their website in an official press release. Four have been included below, and a fifth NSFW cover is available on the Image Comics website. The main cover and NSFW cover are both by creator, writer, and artist Andolfo. The talented variant cover artists include Stjepan Šejić (Harleen, Sunstone) for cover B, Guillem March (Batman, Harley Quinn) for cover C, and Andrew Hickinbottom (3D character modeler) for cover D.

In response to the variant cover artists for this issue, Andolfo gushed: "I'm always thrilled when I see my characters through the eyes of artists I love, and after the amazing variant covers I had on Sweet Paprika #1, it's so great to have three artists I adore, respect, and who are also friends, like Stjepan, Guillem and Andrew," and concluded by saying that "I think all of them illustrated Paprika with originality, and I am in love with their artworks!" The press release also revealed more details about the premise of the second issue. This time around, Paprika finds herself divided as she struggles with her father's illness and a difficult work problem. Plus she has to remain as poised as possible during a very important dinner, which just so happens to have one guest that she never wants to lay eyes on again.

Sweet Paprika has been taking the comics world by storm with its first issue immediately selling out at the distributor level. It even outsold Andolfo's other highly sought-after works, Mercy #1 (which some say should have been nominated for an Eisner) and Unnatural #1. Now let's see how fast the second issue will sell out thanks to this lovely array of covers from a variety of talented artists. All five covers for Sweet Paprika #2 will be available in comic book stores on September 1, 2021. Readers who missed snatching up the first issue can pick up that second printing starting on August 25, 2021.
