What To Expect From Swarm

Dominique Fishback as Dre and Chloe Bailey as Marissa in Swarm

Swarm follows the story of Dre and her obsession with a fictional pop star named Ni'Jah who closely resembles Beyoncé, and instead of the "Bey Hive," her fervent fanbase is known as "The Swarm." With the show directly skewering the obsession with pop stars, it's only appropriate Swarm would cast a few real pop stars. Eilish is the biggest mainstream pop star, who is making her live-action acting debut in Swarm. Bailey is one half of the musical duo Chloe x Halle with her sister, The Little Meramid's Halle Bailey, and has also starred in Grown-ish and Black-ish.

Swarm is also co-created by Glover who is a pop star in his own right, performing under the stage name Childish Gambino, and should have an interesting perspective on fame and fandom. Based on the Swarm trailer coupled with its tagline "Murder. Sex. Music," the show is expected to take several dark turns as it dives deeper into Dre's obsession. Eilish's hypnotic therapist, Eva, also appears to be partially fueling Dre's unhealthy obsession. The wait won't be long to find out exactly what the show has in store, as Swarm hits Prime Video on March 17.
