Slightly resembling a creature out of 2002's Super Mario Sunshine, Swalot is an evolved pocket monster in Pokémon GO that Trainers can encounter as a Raid Boss in November 2022. Serving as the evolution of the Poison-type Gulpin from Hoenn, Swalot is a sizeable slime-like Pokémon capable of swallowing its critters whole after covering its prey with a potent poison. Fortunately, Trainers do not need to fret about their pocket monsters being devoured by this gluttonous glob, but this three-star Raid Boss still can prove to be a challenge for those who face it unprepared.
To defeat Swalot in a three-star Pokémon GO Raid, Trainers will need to assemble a Raid party capable of dealing effective damage to this Boss in battle. To do so, players must understand what Swalot's weaknesses are. As a Poison-type pocket monster, this Raid Boss can withstand Fighting-, Poison-, Bug-, Grass-, and Fairy-type attacks. Conversely, Ground- and Psychic-type Movesets can deal 60% more damage than non-countering elements in Pokémon GO. Remember that the Pokémon that Trainers choose to face Swalot do not necessarily need to be Ground- and Psychic-type creatures. Instead, their Movesets must contain these two elements to be effective against this Boss.
How to Beat Swalot in a Pokémon GO Raid
High-level Trainers with a well-supplied Pokédex can give Swalot a good thrashing with ultra-rare pocket monsters such as Mewtwo, Mega Alakazam, Mega Latios, or the Elite Legendary Hoopa - Unbound. However, average players do not need to go to such lengths to defeat this tier-three Raid Boss. Instead, they are more than capable of succeeding by using the counters listed below, sourced from Pokebattler:
