Survivor returns in the fall of 2022 with its 43rd season, and with that will come a new batch of castaways vying for the million-dollar prize and title of Sole Survivor. Alongside the newest Survivor winner will be two finalists who will likely either be deemed as a robbed runner-up or an easy player to take to the finals.

Most times on Survivor, it is impressive in and of itself to make it to the end. The game is long and hard, and the road to the finish isn't easy. However, jury members and viewers often see it differently, believing that if a contestant was 'carried' to the end, they are undeserving of the grand prize and of being a finalist at all.

Troyzan Robertson (Game Changers)

Troyzan Robertson was one of the more memorable players from the less than memorable 24th season of Survivor, so it was exciting to fans when he was invited back to play on Survivor: Game Changers. His second time around, however, he played a little too under the radar for viewers' liking.

Redditor GroundbreakingTie430 contributed to a thread that discussed undeserving and unmemorable finalists, "Troyzan? nothing was exactly memorable of what he did for me." While Troyzan was able to make it to the final three, he didn't stand a chance against his two opponents; Brad Culpepper and Sarah Lacina.

Mick Trimming (Samoa)

Mick Trimming was part of the infamous Foa Foa four alliance on Survivor: Samoa. Despite being around all season, when fans think of the finals of that season, they typically think of winner Natalie White and the famous Survivor villain, Russell Hantz, leaving Mick in their shadow.

Reddit user XX_TR15T1NHO_XX summed up viewers' feelings toward the third place finisher by writing, "Mick was useless." while Redditor CFT0417 added, "He was truly forgettable. Hell I had forgotten he was a finalist until I rewatched the season last summer."

Matthew Von Ertfelda (Amazon)

Survivor: The Amazon was the first battle of the sexes, and that theme carried over to the final two when Jenna Morasca faced off against Matthew von Ertfelda for the million-dollar prize. Ultimately, Jenna proved she was a better player than Matt, someone who existed in the background for most of the sixth season.

Reddit user slipchuk explained exactly why Matthew wasn't deserving of his spot in the final two, "Incredibly socially awkward and hard to warm up to, had no power in the game throughout really, and I don't think could have won a single F2 this season."

Angelina Keeley (David Vs Goliath)

Angelina Keely was a divisive character on the otherwise beloved David Vs Goliath. While most of her fellow castaways were praised for their eccentric personalities, some viewers found her to be overbearing and cringey, especially when she made it to Final Tribal Council.

Redditor kawfan wrote why they didn't believe that Angelina was worthy of making it to the end, "People don't want to face it but she was not a good player and was respected by nobody on the jury." The jury didn't reward her with any votes, and she finished third behind Mike White and winner Nick Wilson.

Phillip Shepherd (Redemption Island)

While Survivor: Redemption Island is an underwhelming season, to say the least, there were quite a few contestants that made the season memorable. Phillip Shepherd was one of them and he provided much of the season's comic relief -- even if his tribe mates weren't laughing. It was all fun and games until he ended up in the final three, frustrating fans and players that deemed him unworthy.

Reddit user trinitymonkey explained why Phillip was an undeserving finalist, "Annoyed everyone with unhygienic and obnoxious behaviour that made him impossible to take seriously as a winner option...fought with most of his tribemates sometimes for no reason, and pretty much endorsed Rob at FTC."

Lillian 'Lill' Morris (Pearl Islands)

Pearl Islands introduced a never-before-seen twist to the game of Survivor. Instead of every contestant that got voted out being eliminated, they had a chance to re-enter the game. Lill Morris was the chosen one by the tribe of outcasts and ended up making it to Final Tribal Council up against the queen of Survivor herself, Sandra Diaz-Twine.

Redditor Habefiet wrote that Lill should never have made it to the finals with a chance to win the game, "[She] got voted out, utterly despised by most of her jury for being emotionally dependent on people before gutting them."

Stephenie LaGrossa (Guatemala)

Stephenie LaGrossa was America's sweetheart the first time she played Survivor but quickly became a villain during her second attempt. Instead of being beloved by her tribe-mates, she became their biggest competition and an untrustworthy ally who burned a lot of bridges by the end of the game.

Reddit user grantandrob described why Stephenie wasn't a deserving finalist, "In Guatemala her game play was outright atrocious. She probably wasnt the biggest goat of all time (although she was a goat, she would have lost any possible F2), but IMO she played the worst game of all time of a Survivor finalist."

Will Sims (Worlds Apart)

Will Sims from Survivor: Worlds Apart

Will Sims was one of the more pivotal contestants on Survivor: Worlds Apart, but not necessarily for good reason. He was painted as a villain, specifically the bully of fellow castaway Shirin Oskooi. When he made it to the finals, viewers were less than impressed with his road to the finish line and case for the million.

Redditor survivorfan_alanna answered a thread asking who the most undeserving finalist was, "Will Sims the sequel from Worlds Apart is the only correct answer." At the very least, he received a vote from his former ally, Rodney.

Natalie Tenerelli (Redemption Island)

Natalie Tenerelli was Boston Rob's right-hand man during his winning season, but that didn't do her any favors. Instead, she was perceived as a weak player and undeserving finalist, especially because she had such a difficult time defending her game or lack thereof at Final Tribal Council. She walked away from Survivor with zero votes and a third-place finish.

Reddit user FalseChef wrote, "She didn't do anything at all. She didn't even have a good social game. Rob carried her to the end since she was such an easy beat, and since she had no brain and would never defer from his plans."

Katie Gallagher (Palau)

Katie Gallagher had a tight alliance with Tom Westman and Ian Rosenberger in Survivor: Palau, but she often took a backseat to the game and let them control things. Before anyone knew it, she was in the final two thanks to Ian removing himself from contention.

Redditor surgartits explained why Katie was a bad finalist, "She made F2 solely because Ian kamikazed in an ill-considered bid to regain his 'integrity.' I can’t think of a single thing Katie did in that game as a player and strategist, and she wasn’t even liked by her tribe. To be useless and unpleasant and make F2? A shame."
