Jenn Brown is revealing that she and a few of her fellow Survivor jury members were drunk during Tribal Council. The former castaway competed during season 30, which aired in 2015. Survivor: Worlds Apart, filmed in Nicaragua, featured three tribes split up based on their careers: white collar, blue collar and no collar.

Brown started out on the Nagarote tribe on Survivor, which was made up of the "No Collar" players. She stayed with Nagarote even after a tribe switch. After making it to the merge, she was targeted at Tribal Council. But she used her hidden Immunity Idol, which resulted in Kelly Remington's ouster from the game. Despite becoming a target after that big move, Brown managed to last several more days on the island before being voted out on day 27. But because she made it to the merge, she joined the jury. At the final Tribal Council, a majority of the jury (including Brown) overwhelmingly chose Mike Holloway as the winner of the competition. Sierra Dawn Thomas and Rodney Lavoie Jr. were the only voting members to side with the eventual runners-up, Will Sims and Carolyn Rivera.

During an interview with EW, Brown revealed that she was drunk during the auction episode and at Tribal Council when she was on the jury. "I was absolutely lit during the auction episode," she admitted. "I drank seven shots of rum in a matter of 20 minutes, had zero food in my stomach and had been given Nicaraguan narcotic painkillers for another thing an hour before it was filmed. It was meant to come with a ton of steaks to layer the tum with, but I didn't eat them." She bought the rum during the auction. Other available items included chicken and waffles, steak, and letters from family members. On the way back to the tribe's camp after the auction, Brown ended up flirting with a producer she had a crush on, calling it "a great time." She ended up being voted out during this same episode.

But the behavior didn't stop there. After she joined the Survivor jury, Brown and a couple of her fellow jury members showed up drunk to Tribal Council and would "either talk to each other or the contestants or fall asleep." Alcohol was eventually banned on days that the jury had to be at Tribal Council. But Brown admits they hid alcohol in their rooms, bypassing the watchful eyes of the producers. "Tribal Council is way too boring to show up to sober while in the game, let alone when you're not even a part of it anymore and have no idea what's going on," she noted.

After spending weeks on Survivor without enough food to eat, and without the kinds of food and beverages found at home, it's not surprising that some of the jury members would indulge once voted out of the game. Being on the jury means they no longer have to ration food or boil water to drink. They're able to shower again, use a real toilet and sleep in an actual bed. It's also understandable that producers would be worried about the players' drunken behavior, especially if they couldn't easily edit it out of the show.

After being off the air for a year due to the coronavirus pandemic, Survivor is ready to give fans another season of outwitting, outplaying and outlasting. Production recently began on season 41 in Fiji. Viewers can expect the reality series to return to CBS in the fall.
