Fans were shocked after a recent Survivor episode, which revealed that Jesse Lopez had Jeanine Zheng's immunity idol. Jeanine's Survivor 43 game took one hit after another in the last couple weeks since the merge. In an attempt to outsmart another player, Jeanine temporarily gave her immunity idol to Dwight Moore. However, this move eventually cost her the Survivor game when her tribe members voted her out.

Recently, James Jones took a hidden advantage, and Dwight guessed it was Knowledge is Power, which gives James the power to steal another player's advantage. Jeanine and Noelle Lambert decided to swap their advantages to other people in opposite tribes to cover who was holding one, so if James tried to use Knowledge is Power, he would be less likely to get it right. Jeanine gave her advantage to Dwight to hold onto and continued with the plan to get out either James or Ryan Medrano by splitting votes. However, this plan fell apart when Cody Assenmacher and Jesse turned on Dwight and worked with Coco to vote him out. In an interview with EW, Jeanine revealed the thought process behind this plan and the shock she felt when it became known that Jesse had her idol.

Why Dwight Gave Jeanine's Immunity Idol To Jesse

Dwight Moore on Survivor

When Dwight allegedly left with Jeanine's idol, she thought her idol was gone, and so did other players and viewers, who claimed Jeanine was the unluckiest Survivor player. Jeanine recalled, "I thought that my idol was flushed. I was devastated. Everyone else on the episode also was like, Wow, Jeanine got her idol flushed." However, in a shocking twist, Jesse revealed that he received it from Dwight to hold onto when the plan was to conceal who had advantages. Dwight believed Jesse was allying with him and didn't want to hold onto it because he thought people would guess Jeanine would give it to him. Jeanine said, "And that's why he transferred it last minute and didn't even tell me. Didn't tell anyone. So that's what happened."

There was little Jeanine could do to save her game after Mike Gabler broke off during the merge from the Baka alliance. Her only hope was the help of her allies, but finding people to flip to her side was a difficult feat. Then, when Dwight allegedly left the game with her immunity idol, she lost the one power she had in the game, and it became known to other tribe members quickly. Survivor fans viewed Jeanine as a potential winner, so many are disappointed with her elimination.

After a streak of bad luck on Survivor 43, Jeanine's game is over, but she is the first member of the jury. Jeanine's idol became a threat to the other Survivor 43 cast members when Gabler's fan-praised gameplay revealed she had it. However, the immunity idol has new power now since no one knows it is still in the game. Although Jeanine's time competing on Survivor is over, her gameplay remains in the form of her idol.

Survivor 43 airs Wednesday nights at 8 p.m. ET on CBS.
