Very few long-running reality TV shows stick with the same host, but truly iconic hosts not only stick with the show through thick and thin, but totally transform it, and such is the case with Survivor's Jeff Probst. It's honestly pretty hard to imagine Survivor without this host, and he's made all 40 seasons totally entertaining.

Jeff Probst attended school and graduated before he moved from his hometown of Wichita to attend Seattle Pacific University. However, despite pursuing this education, Probst just wanted to work on television, so he dropped out. Luckily for him, his father worked at a film production company, so he got to dive in with some easy jobs. He edited videos and wrote scripts, which was the beginning of his successful career in the business.

After the show had wrapped up, Probst emailed Berry to profess his connection to her. They made it official at a series finale, but the two wrapped up their romance a few years later in 2008. It was for the best, too, because Probst tied the knot with Lisa Ann Russell in 2011.

He Officiates Weddings

Jeff Probst has some pretty famous friends, too, and surprisingly, he's actually ordained as a Minster. He does a lot of weddings for his friends, but fans might be interested to know that he officiated the wedding of his close friends, Jenna Fischer and Lee Kirk.

Fans will probably recognize Jenna Fischer from The Office, where she plays Pam Beesly. Lee Kirk is also the writer and director of projects like Ordinary World, and he also had a cameo on The Office. Any fan of Survivor would love to be married by Jeff Probst!

Probst has been very open about his passion for it and has dedicated a lot of his time to it. This charity has also merged with the organization Alliance for Children's Rights. So, when he's not on the island, Probst is doing other great things.

There's being a great television host, and there's being a Primetime Emmy Award-winning host, which Jeff Probst has had the honor of receiving a whopping four seperate times. In fact, he won for four consecutive years from 2008-2011.

Shockingly, though, he hasn't been nominated since despite his long-running time on the series. Still, he's actually one of few to win the awards multiple times, with only RuPaul taking the crown at five consecutive wins.

All The "Ball" Commentary Is Actually On Purpose

This host definitely isn't afraid to make jokes and snarky comments, and fans also definitely know he says a LOT of things during challenges. Plus, there's a lot of balls to go around for reward and immunity challenges.

Some fans might think these innuendos are totally unintentional, but it turns out that they're not! Probst and the crew all laugh about it, and he says the word "balls" in as many strange ways as humanly possible. Now fans know that he's actually laughing with them instead of making himself out to be the joke.

Every host has to have a trademark line that they say every single episode. While he has a few, every fan of this show knows that for Jeff Probst, the iconic line is "the tribe has spoken" as he snuffs the torch of the voted-out player.

However, it was only two days before the filming of the very season began when series creator Mark Burnet and Jeff Probst were scrambling for that perfect line. Apparently, while bouncing ideas, Burnet kind of inadvertently said the line, and Probst knew it was a winner.

He Collects The Torch Snuffer From Every Season

Since the show premiered in 2000, Jeff Probst has taken the famous torch snuffer from every single season. It's his choice for his own personal souvenir to celebrate each season that the series successfully finishes. Of all the things, it's pretty fitting and super wholesome that Probst takes home the snuffers. Along with his iconic slogan, he certainly likes to remember all the castaways whose torches he's snuffed.
