Survivor host Jeff Probst criticized CBS's spoiler-filled trailers. The popular competition show featured a little more than was meant to in a recent trailer, letting fans see an extra sneak peek.

Survivor first aired back in May of 2000 and was a big hit among CBS viewers. The focal point of the contest is to place a group of strangers from unique places in life on an isolated island where they have to find their own food, water, shelter, and fire. Each week, the contestants compete in physical and mental challenges that grant them rewards like peanut butter or immunity from elimination. A contestant is then eliminated by their fellow castmates until one is left to claim the one-million-dollar prize.

The 39th season of America’s favorite survival competition show premiered last week, and during the premiere of Survivor: Island of the Idols, viewers were shocked that CBS aired a promo for the show during the show. The unpleasant promo divulged which tribe would be losing the immunity challenge and would have to attend the Tribal Council. EW reported that the surprise promo revealed that the Lairo tribe would be dipping their torches in the fire, giving fans a heads-up on who would possibly be sent home. Even though the season opener was an amazing 90-minute episode, that did not save the ranting that was to come from the angry mob.

Jeff Probst, who has been the host of the hit show for over twenty years, took to Twitter only hours before the second episode was set to run. He expressed his discontent that the producers of the show have no say on what CBS airs in its promo packages. He told fans to keep complaining, as it may help change the format that the network currently uses. The host himself tweeted at CBS, saying, I have to admit I too find it mind-numbing. And it pains me to have joined in your complaints against @survivorcbs but I am...”  Probst ended his ranting by saying that the next episode would still be a great watch, despite the spoilers.

Hopefully, the network will have learned their lesson after angering the tribes of Survivor fans. Fans will have to watch future episode to see if the network makes the same mistake again, and if they do, fans will have no problem taking to social media to set them straight. Thankfully, the two all-star mentors, Sandra Diaz Twine and Boston Rob Mariana, helped keep the action-packed episode exciting as they taught competitors the tricks of the trade.
