The premiere of Survivor 42 is right around the corner, and fans are eager to meet the season's castaways, which includes financial executive recruiter Chanelle Howell. Chanelle has been successfully navigating her way through the jungles of the business world for some time, and now she is ready to take on the actual jungle in Fiji.

While the Mamanuca Islands will be quite a change from the streets of Manhattan, Chanelle believes her extensive knowledge of the game will be what ultimately makes her the Sole Survivor. All in all, she hopes to win the million dollars as a thank you to her amazing parents.

Chanelle's Job

Chanelle, who is on Survivor 42 with Lindsay Dolashewich, currently works for Goldman Sach, according to her bio on the CBS's Survivor website. She has taken her background in job recruitment and started "a mentorship program that helps young women get into professional spaces." Chanelle holds an Associate's Degree from Eastern Connecticut State University and received her Bachelor’s Degree in communications from the University of Connecticut. While in college, she was a member of the Tau Sigma National Honor Society, Vice President of the Public Relations Student Society of America, and served as a senator in the student government. During college, Chanelle also spent time in Cameroon, Africa volunteering with UCEmpower. While there, she taught math, spelling, and computer literacy to underprivileged children.

Chanelle is currently 29-years-old and her CBS Survivor profile lists "competitive" as one of three words that would describe her. So it's no surprise the season 42 castaway was a student athlete. Chanelle attended Hamden High School in Hamden, Connecticut where she was a member of the varsity volleyball team. She also learned in both cross country and track & field, and she competed as a pole vaulter. Her athleticism will certainly work to her advantage once the battle-royale Survivor games begin.

Chanelle Howell lists former Survivor contestant Kim Spradlin as a player she'd most like to emulate. She believes Kim played a perfect game and hopes to keep that same energy while she is in survival mode. Between her negotiating skills, her physical shape, and her smarts, Chanelle should have a pretty good chance of winning in the end.
