The Doomsday Bunker is the ultimate goal for players to complete in Surviving the Aftermath. The bunker will protect the colony against nearly every type of catastrophe, except for Winter, which gives the colony the opportunity to really grow into a thriving civilization. Players will need to complete every mission in the main story in order to finish the Doomsday Bunker.

The main questline will become available fairly early in the game, around day 20, but it will likely take a long time for players to complete the story. To start production on the Doomsday Bunker, players will need to send Specialists to the World Map and task them with completing the main story tasks. The research they gather will lead to plans for Surviving the Aftermath's first phase of construction for the Doomsday Bunker.

Once construction has begun on the Doomsday Bunker, there will be several construction phases that each require a few steps to complete. Players should be aware that for tasks that require visiting the construction site, they will need to click on the quest icon above the bunker. Interacting with the bunker itself will not progress the questline and players may end up waiting longer than they need to before continuing the story. The icon indicating the next step is available will be a gold diamond with a purple question mark inside of it.

Completing the Doomsday Bunker in Surviving the Aftermath

Surviving the Aftermath Doomsday Bunker Under Construction

Surviving the Aftermath lets players develop a civilization from scratch, but there is also a story to play through. Completing the story means finishing the construction of the Doomsday Bunker. After visiting the construction site, players will need to send a Specialist to investigate a smoke pillar. This leads to three fights with bandits, but as long as players send multiple Specialists, ideally Fighters, they should have no problem winning the altercations.

Along with sending Specialists to complete tasks, there is one other major requirement for completing the bunker. During the second construction phase, players will need to use Engineer Depots to convert Specialists to Engineers. Once a Specialist is trained, players can establish Engineer Outposts. There are four types of Engineer Outposts that players will need to establish: Medicine, Ecosystem, Life Support, and Defense. Each one will increase the percent of the chosen category's research for the Doomsday Bunker.

To finish the Doomsday Bunker, players will need to reach 100% in each of the four Engineer Outpost categories and complete every main mission along the way. This can take a long time to complete, but having the bunker will greatly increase the chances of keeping the colony alive in Surviving the Aftermath. Once the Doomsday Bunker is finished, players can focus on expanding their colony without worrying about most of the major catastrophes.
