Black Adam
Fans have been waiting for a Black Adam movie for some years now, with Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson attached to the project for several years. Finally, at the DC Fandome event, the Black Adam movie was formally given a release date an animated trailer.
Finally, fans can look toward seeing Shazam’s most iconic villain appear in his own standalone movie, setting up a clash between the two characters.
Evil Superman
Rocksteady’s Suicide Squad trailer was always going to make a splash online, with fans eagerly waiting for Rocksteady’s next addition to the Arkham universe since the release of Arkham Knight in 2015.
While the trailer was always guaranteed to go viral, it still managed to exceed expectations. The trailer showed that the Suicide Squad would be coming up against a mind-controlled Superman, shocking fans around the world.
Batman’s Brutality
The next few years are going to be huge for Batman. Not only is the Robert Pattinson movie coming out, but Ben Affleck and Michael Keaton are both reprising their roles for the upcoming Flash movie.
This allows for there to be different tones across the Batman movies and the Robert Pattinson movie certainly has a unique tone, with Batman appearing to be very brutal going by the trailer.
Gotham Knights Isn’t In Arkham-Verse
Fans have known for some time that Rocksteady was leaving the Batman character after the release of Arkham Knight, moving on to adapt the Suicide Squad instead. However, fans had always thought that Warner Bros Montreal would continue the Arkham universe.
Fandome showed that this would not be the case, despite the fact that Batman is also ‘dead’ in this continuity. This certainly led to some confusion among the fanbase.
Dark Riddler
Fans have known for some time that the Riddler was going to appear in the Batman movie by Matt Reeves, with the iconic villain being portrayed by the fantastic Paul Dano. However, fans didn’t know what kind of Riddler he would be playing.
The trailer gave fans the answers they wanted, showing that Dano’s Riddler is going to be a very dark, sadistic character, as opposed to the clownish Jim Carrey version in Batman Forever.
Snyder Cut Trailer
The Snyder Cut trailer was always going to premier at this event, so fans weren’t surprised that the trailer dropped during Fandome. However, fans were surprised at just how different the Snyder Cut looks, with new villains (including Darkseid) appearing in the movie.
The film looks to be a completely different movie, with Flash and Cyborg both being promised huge roles in the Snyder Cut, hopefully making up for their bit-part treatment in the theatrical cut.
Bloodsport
The identities of some of the new characters appearing in James Gunn’s Suicide Squad had been kept under wraps since their casting announcement. Idris Elba’s casting in particular garnered discussion online, with many believing that he was either set to play a recast Deadshot or Bronze Tiger.
However, the DC Fandome event revealed that the identity of Idris Elba’s character in Suicide Squad will be the mercenary, Bloodsport.
Colin Farrell
The news that Colin Farrell would be playing the Penguin was met with interest around the globe. Not only because Farrell is a great actor, but also because he doesn’t resemble the typical features that many have come to associate with the character, such as a long nose and a short, overweight stature.
However, the trailer for the Batman showed that Colin Farrell has almost become unrecognizable as the Penguin, with many not even recognizing the actor.
Suicide Squad Line Up
While this list has already included the entry of Idris Elba’s Bloodsport due to the vast discussion around the character, the Suicide Squad line up in general needs its own entry on this list.
The DC Fandome event finally revealed the full line up for the Suicide Squad, showing that King Shark, the Thinker, and Peacemaker will be appearing in the upcoming James Gunn movie.
Robert Pattinson’s Eye Makeup
Despite starring in some incredible movies and showing how talented he is as an actor, some fans still saw the casting of Robert Pattinson as Bruce Wayne/ Batman as a bad choice, with many being unable to look past his history as Edward Cullen. However, this trailer proves Robert Pattinson is perfect for the role.
One scene in particular helped to capture the attention of fans and showed that Robert Pattinson’s Batman is set to have a new level of intensity, the eye makeup scene. This scene went viral online, generating memes and discussions as people fell in love with the look.
