Apple has released a brand-new trailer for their forthcoming psychological mystery thriller series Surface, starring Loki actress Gugu Mbatha-Raw. Created by Veronica West (Chicago Fire, High Fidelity), Surface is set in San Francisco and centers on a woman named Sophie who has suffered a traumatic brain injury that has left her with extreme memory loss. When Sophie embarks on a quest to put the pieces of her life back together with the help of her husband and friends, she begins to question whether or not the truth she is told is, in fact, the truth she has lived.

Now, Apple TV+ has dropped an official trailer for Surface, putting the spotlight on Mbatha-Raw as she attempts to put together the pieces of her forgotten past. The trailer focuses on the amnesiac protagonist Sophie after her alleged suicide attempt and follows her on a quest to find the truth behind the incident. As the trailer progresses, it becomes increasingly clear that there is more to the mystery, as she begins to question the motives of the people surrounding her. Check out the full trailer below:

The Surface trailer also features The Haunting of Hill House and The Invisible Man star Oliver Jackson-Cohen in his first TV appearance since the 2020 Netflix horror series The Haunting of Bly Manor. Other cast members for the series include Stephan James, Ari Graynor, Marianne Jean-Baptiste, Francois Arnaud, and Millie Brady. Apple will be hoping to add to its recent run of critically acclaimed content following the success of Severance and Pachinko, and the trailer of Surface promises to deliver exactly that. Audiences can tune in to Surface when the series makes its debut on Apple TV+ on July 29th.
