Dean and Sam Winchester, Castiel, and Bobby, Crowley, and Lucifer--household names for fans of CW's dark fantasy drama Supernatural. Love, devotion, greed, and manipulation, these beloved characters have brought to the fore the entire gamut of human emotions even though the show went far beyond simple human characters.

This is a series where the villains have as much fun, if not more, as the heroes. But whether Winchester allies or not, most of them have intriguing personalities that are hard to dismiss. And who you prefer speaks volumes about your character.

Jack: All That Inner Strength

Alexander Calvert as Jack in Supernatural

Those who choose Jack as their favorite Supernatural character, may have to tap into their inner self to seek the strength they possess.

Jack’s fans may feel as if they are faltering in confidence but they only have to look inside to unleash the power they actually wield. There is greatness in those who love Jack which they are yet to fully understand. But once they know they have it in them, the world would be a better place with them in it.

God: Ambitious

Rob Benedict as Chuck God in Supernatural

It is hard to actually like God as a character in this cult series as he does become rather unpleasant over time. But they say that every good hero needs an even better villain, and what better nemesis for the Winchester brothers than God himself?

Those who love Chuck/God might enjoy having power in their hands and playing god. They might be ambitious, have a curious soul, and a penchant for the dark and mysterious.

Mary Winchester: Fiercely Independent

Mary Winchester didn't have a big enough arc although it was her uncanny death that literally set in motion the wheels for the entire drama.

Mary came back from the dead in season 11 and found herself a bit of an anachronism. She was, however, accomplished and driven, aside from being a badass hunter. She might have been dead for a long time but she was far from fragile. Fans of Mary would most likely be as fiercely independent as the character herself, and would respect strong, empowered women who aren't afraid to take a stand.

Crowley: Tends To Live Dangerously

Crowley sits on his throne as king of hell in Supernatural

The King of Hell is yet another raging fan-favorite whom fans couldn't get enough of. Crowley, like Lucifer, was one of the most beloved antagonists of the fantasy drama.

Those who are fascinated by Crowley are likely to indulge and live a tad dangerously. They respect their enemies and do not mind locking horns with them every now and then. Crowley fans might think they are relentlessly materialistic, but at the end of the day, they have a heart.

Lucifer: Flamboyant

Lucifer Supernatural

The snarky Devil is everyone's favorite. Lucifer oozes charisma and favoring him probably means having a thing for flamboyance.

Lucifer is arrogant, manipulative, and never places much value on softer emotions like love or trust. He would go to any lengths to achieve his twisted ends. Liking him means craving the larger than life and probably having a slightly grandiose sense of self and a flair for the dramatic.

Rowena McLeod: Sassy & Self-assured

Rowena in Supernatural

The witch Rowena started out as an antagonist but went on to become one of the many foe-turned-Winchester-allies that the show has given fans over the years.

Rowena was her own woman and cared very little for conventionalities or society in general. She was an outlier who pursued her own ambitions, however twisted they might be. Anybody who loves Rowena McLoed would be brimming with self-assurance just like the character, and wouldn't mind indulging in a severe dose of sass from time to time.

Bobby Singer: Appreciates Tough Love

Jim Beaver as Bobby

There aren't many fans of Supernatural who don't adore Bobby Singer, the friend, philosopher, guide, and surrogate father of sorts to the Winchesters.

Bobby is grumpy and crabby at times but he loves the boys like his own. Those who like Bobby value the presence of an older, guiding light in their lives. Bobby’s fans would be inclined to understand tough love and appreciate that mollycoddling isn't the only sort of fatherly love one can give.

Castiel: Values Friendship

Cas Leaves

Loving Supernatural means being in love with Castiel. Castiel is the third cog in the Winchester wheel and cooked up quite a storm, literally and metaphorically, when he first walked into the ramshackle shed in season 4 to meet Dean Winchester, the human he had saved from perdition.

If a fan counts Cas as a favorite, then they value friendship and love above all else. These fans might be a bit of an introvert or find mingling socially a task. But they are decent through and through and would literally do anything to stand by the people they care for.

Sam Winchester: Questions Authority

The strapping Sam Winchester is kind, self-effacing, a bit of an intellectual, and a rebel at heart. Familial relations mean a lot to him, especially the profound bond with his older brother, Dean.

Those who prefer Sam are possibly devoted to the ones they love but do not hold back from questioning authority. They could probably spend hours buried in a book, and can get quite intense when it comes to relationships. They are also likely to be the best in their chosen field and have the strength to make huge sacrifices for those they care for.

Dean Winchester: No Stakes Are High Enough

The handsome Dean Winchester is loyal to a fault, a good son, and a devoted brother. Dean presents the quintessential tough-guy image but underneath the goofy facade is a soft-hearted man who, as Cas put it very aptly, feels things more acutely than most.

Fans of Dean Winchester are likely to be sensitive and probably care more than they like to admit. They don't mind mixing business with pleasure at times but at the end of the day, family matters the most. Dean’s fans would put themselves at risk over and over again for those they love and would stand firmly by their friends and family, no matter the stakes.
