The Supernatural cast gave a special thanks and heartfelt goodbye to the show’s dedicated fandom in a new video. For fifteen years, Supernatural has brought monster hunting, apocalypses, and classic rock to its viewership, cementing a place in sci-fi/fantasy TV history. The show’s final season is currently airing its last stretch of episodes.

Supernatural’s cast is perhaps the biggest reason for its extended success. Jensen Ackles and Jared Padalecki charmed fans from the beginning with their chemistry, brilliant portrayals of brothers Sam and Dean Winchester, and the later addition of Misha Collins as Castiel gave another layer to the show’s dynamic. After so many deaths, resurrections, and world-ending events, it’s been challenging at times for Supernatural to keep finding new narrative spaces to explore. Fortunately, through all of it, the core cast has been the series’ rock, bringing constant charisma and keeping viewers emotionally invested. And thankfully, the show’s final stretch promises to keep the focus on Sam and Dean.

In a new video out of TV Guide, Ackles, Padalecki, Collins, and costar Alex Calvert thank the Supernatural fan base for staying loyal to the show over so many years. It’s a brief but sincere show of gratitude from a cast that, in many ways, has become like a distant family for many of the series’ most ardent supporters. “We feel so honored to have been folded into this incredible fandom,” Collins says during one clip. “We’re deeply grateful, and you have changed our lives.” You can watch the entire video below.

The ending of any show that’s run as long as Supernatural has is bound to be bittersweet. Some fans are already speculating about what the franchise’s future could look like, and whether or not the cast would ever return to their beloved characters (which Ackles has said he would love to do). The lore-rich world of Supernatural seems primed for spinoff potential, and there’s certainly enough of a following who would be excited to watch future projects.

Regardless of whether there’s more in store for Supernatural, the show has already made an indelible mark on the genre landscape. Such a long tenure and iconic collection of characters has placed the series in the company of greats like The X-Files and Doctor Who, and it will be difficult for any successor to fill the cultural space carved out by Supernatural. Of course, it isn’t entirely done yet. The final episodes of Supernatural are currently airing.
