The trailer for the final episodes of Supernatural season 15 has arrived, offering a glimpse into the drama’s much-anticipated end. The series was initially intended to conclude back in May of this year. However, because of a production shutdown which occurred due to the ongoing pandemic, those plans were altered.

It was recently reported that Supernatural was one of the first shows to pick up production back in Vancouver, filming the final two episodes which were halted by the production shutdown. Given that Supernatural is slated to return in October, with the series finale airing on November 19, the show looks to be comfortably on track to achieve its goals. Jared Padalecki and Jensen Ackles, who gained global recognition for their portrayal of the Winchester brothers, have each assured fans that the last chapters of Supernatural will be satisfying. Now, fans are getting a peek into what those chapters will consist of.

The CW has released a trailer for the final seven episodes of Supernatural season 15. Returning on October 8, with viewers in the U.S. able to watch episodes the next day on CW Seed, the preview is light on story specifics but it does promise a little bit of everything that has made the monster-hunting drama so popular with audiences. You can check out the trailer below.

Ackles, who plays Dean Winchester, has previously revealed that the scripts for the final episodes were altered due to COVID-19. But based on the trailer, it looks as though Supernatural will end by hitting all the notes that it has become known for ever since it premiered back in 2oo5. The selected snippets show plenty of angst, a bit of humor, and even a few standalone narratives as the heroes gear up for their climatic battle against God. Supernatural has managed to cultivate such an impressive run, in part, because of its ability to change lanes and shift moods from one installment to the next. As the series prepares for to bow out, it looks as though the creative forces behind the scenes are keen to honor all the different components of Supernatural which fans have enjoyed over the years. Still, there are hints about the show’s larger arc. In one moment, Jack (Alexander Calvert) is seen coming to grips with the fact that he’ll have to save the day.

Ackles and Padalecki have other projects lined up once Supernatural concludes. Padalecki will headline Walker, a reboot of the original series which starred Chuck Norris. For his part, Ackles will reunite with Supernatural creator Eric Kripke when he joins The Boys season 3. But for now, the duo is focused on helping to bring Supernatural to a worthwhile finish. The CW shares in the same goal as well, as the network’s president has promised to turn the long-awaited farewell into an event. While the show’s delay was certainly disruptive, one bright spot is the fact that Supernatural is likely to get more attention when it returns for its last batch of episodes in just a matter of weeks.
