Supernatural season 15 will bring Sam and Dean Winchester's story to a suitably dramatic end, and here are the cast and characters confirmed to be joining them. Picking up from the season 14 finale where God was revealed as the manipulative final villain and the gates of Hell burst wide open, the Winchester brothers will be on clean-up duty when Supernatural returns, revisiting their old cases and taking out familiar foes. However, they must also wrap up the more cosmic threat a renegade God poses to mankind and this could mean a bloody end to their hunting careers.

Plenty of surprise cameos and returns can be expected for Supernatural season 15, giving fans a chance to bid farewell to their favorite characters. While some of these names will undoubtedly remain under wraps until the very last minute, others have already been announced ahead of time.

Jensen Ackles as Dean Winchester - The senior of the two Winchester brothers, Dean was last seen gunning for an out-of-control Jack. His focus has now shifted firmly onto God, who was revealed to have been treating the Winchesters' lives as his own personal source of entertainment.

Jared Padalecki as Sam Winchester - Usually the more sympathetic of the two brothers, every season of Supernatural usually finds Sam and Dean bickering over some moral conundrum. With season 15 being their last, expect the tension between the two lead characters to be less prominent. Padalecki is set to star in a reboot of Walker, Texas Ranger, the first role in his post-Supernatural career.

Misha Collins as Castiel - The Winchesters' angelic best friend was by their side when God's true nature came forth and ready to fight alongside the brothers against the resurrected hellions. Castiel will be a keen ally for Sam and Dean in Supernatural season 15 but could be conflicted about clashing with his own father.

Alexander Calvert as Jack - The half-human son of Lucifer embarked on a misguided power trip in Supernatural season 14, but was effortlessly smote by God before Sam, Dean and Castiel could talk the nephilim round. Residing in the Empty, Jack was awoken by Death, who seemingly has big plans for the youngster.

Ruth Connell as Rowena Macleod - Originally known as just "Crowley's mother," Rowena has become one of Supernatural's most popular supporting characters, appearing whenever the Winchesters need a dose of magic. Rowena is fated to be killed by Sam Winchester, and it'll be interesting to see whether this prophecy comes to pass before Supernatural ends.

Jake Abel as Adam Milligan - Adam is the lost third Winchester brother, possessed by the archangel Michael and consigned to Lucifer's cage where he has stayed ever since. Adam is finally set to return in the final season, and may well bring Michael with him.

Rob Benedict as God - Seemingly the main villain of Supernatural's final season. God is bored with humanity and is obsessed with writing stories for entertainment.

Emily Swallow as Amara/The Darkness - The Darkness is God's sister and acted as the main villain for Supernatural season 11. Emily Swallow herself has confirmed that Amara will return for the final season, perhaps as one of Death's recruits against the increasingly dangerous God.

David Haydn-Jones as Arthur Ketch - First introduced as an agent of the British Men of Letters in Supernatural season 12, Ketch has gone from slimy villain to a free-roaming ally of Sam and Dean, seeking to atone for past sins. Ketch will appear in the second episode of season 15, "Raising Hell" and although he might be on the Winchesters' team, the brothers won't be forgetting Ketch bedded their mother any time soon.

Lisa Berry as Billie/Death - Death has resurrected Jack and looks to be putting together a team to fight against God.

Osric Chau as Kevin Tran Supernatural's most popular prophet is widely reported as returning in season 15, but with both his prime and Apocalypse versions already dead, it's not immediately clear how, especially since Kevin's soul is in Heaven, not Hell. With that said, it was God who supposedly sent Kevin's soul to the afterlife...

Shoshannah Stern as Eileen Leahy - Eileen was a deaf hunter and a friend of the Winchester brothers, brutally killed by Ketch via a hellhound. With Hell's gates now fully open, Eileen will be returning for Supernatural season 15.

Other figures viewers will almost certainly see in Supernatural season 15 include Jim Beaver as Apocalypse BobbyFelicia Day as Apocalypse Charliethe Wayward Sisters and Keith Szarabajka as Donatello.
