Jensen Ackles, who plays Dean Winchester on Supernatural, will take home the Winchester brothers' beloved Impala once filming has finished. Kicking off in 2005, Supernatural is a dark fantasy show that focuses on brothers Sam and Dean Winchester. Together, the pair travel around North America fighting and hunting supernatural beings, including monsters and demons. Their travels are made possible thanks to Dean's Impala. As established in an early episode of the show, Dean has a serious fear of flying, which relegates Supernatural's monster hunting to locations where the Impala can be driven.

After over a decade, Supernatural is finally coming to end, as the cast and crew work to film the final episode in the series. Like many other shows, the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic led to a delay in production, which meant the final episodes of season 15 were pushed back to later this year. As a result, last-minute script changes were made to Supernatural as well, to accommodate for new restrictions, such as removing any scenes with crowds. But as Supernatural comes close to wrapping for the final time, at least one star has confirmed what he'll be taking home from the production.

In an interview with Digital Spy, Ackles said he'll end his time on Supernatural by taking home the prop he's had his eye on since the beginning: Dean's 1967 black Chevrolet Impala. The car has become an iconic part of the show, and is so special to Dean that he often refers to it as his "baby." Ackles explained that he'd "begged and begged and pleaded" to be able to take home the Impala for years, but his words fell on deaf ears. Now, producers are finally granting his request, and Ackles received permission to leave set with the beloved car.

Ackles' co-star Jared Padalecki will also be leaving set with a fair share of momentos. While he jokes that what he really wanted to take was the Men of Letter's bunker, "it wouldn't fit in [his] car." Still, Padalecki is taking this in good stride, explaining that he's still been able to stow away plenty of "trinkets here and there." It's clear that Ackles and Padalecki are savoring their last few moments on set whenever possible, and their collecting frenzy is a bittersweet detail for many fans who've followed Supernatural throughout the years.

While details about the final episode of Supernatural is still largely under wraps, trailers show that the Winchesters have set out to kill God, which is exactly the kind of massive finale that fans expect. That being said, the finale's debut will undoubtedly be an emotional moment for everyone who's either been involved in the show or kept up with it as a fan. As such, whether it be through souvenirs or memories, it's evident that their time on Supernatural is something Ackles and Padalecki will always keep with them.
